you're right, we are somewhat better than last year, but its a completely different roster and I think we should be better replacing Damien Wilkins w/ a #4 pick and Love continuing to expand his game, but my problem is the lack of improvement from the beginning of the year to now. The same mental mistakes keep showing up in defensive rotations and ball movement on offense, seems like a good coaching and practices should be cleaning that up.

I just think if you're a really good defensive coach, you see immediate improvements, plain and simple. The Bucks were as bad as the Wolves before Skiles, now they're a top 10 defensive team. Thats with guys like Maggette, Drew Gooden, Ilyasova, and Salmons all getting major minutes.

Tom Thibodeau took the Bulls from 10th to 1st. They lost Hinrich and gained Korver, and they still improved greatly. Rose was a trainwreck, Bulls fans were at their wits end w/ his defense, now he looks great. Too many things changed to chalk it up to coincidence.

We're the yougnest team in the NBA. Team defense is an NBA skill that takes time. At the beginning of the year we were getting blown out by 40 all the time. Now it happens rarely.

I definately have seen improvement all year. For example, most glaring I can look to Beasley and Ellington and see marked improvement in their defense.

If Rambis has this poor of a record next year, then I'll start demanding that he be fired. 30 wins should be the minimum. If he can't get that, and we have no significant injuries or what-have-you, then he should be fired. I really don't care about record too much this year. next year is a different story.

I honestly could care less about the Record either. But I'm sorry but I just don't see any sort of plan, at least not these last games. I know I am a broken record and I've said it in 3 threads now, but the lack of Minutes for Darko and Beasley tonight just drive me nuts. There is no reason these guys shouldn't' be getting 36 plus minutes. Interesting to see what our record would be if Love and Beasley were getting 38 minutes a night.

I could deal w/ the W-L record if I could say things like "well our 3 point defense sucks, but nobody can stop our inside game, or we can't score inside, but our fast break game is off the charts, or we're inept on offense, but our defense is going to be beast"

there's really nothing we can hang our hat on. I'd like to see them forge an identity. Before the season I was hoping for long athletic team contesting shots and running teams off the courts w/ dunks and threes, but our defense is putrid and they F up in transition on a regular basis

I think the fact that both are nursing recurring ankle injuries probably has something to do with the limited minutes.

I just want to see the young talent develop together and improve. If they play their talent (cough, Johnson, cough) and show that they are growing together I will keep watching. 3 or 4 more losses with Brewer and Ellington logging 45+ minutes and I will probably tune out until the lottery.

Transition defense is a huge problem. I don't know if it is bad shots, too many guys chasing offensive rebounds, or the PG being closer to the baseline because of the triangle, but we get killed in transition, it's where we give up most of our 3's. That has got to improve.

Love is averaging 37 minutes a game, so not sure what you are talking about there. That number is pretty telling since he wasnt averaging 30 minutes a game for the first 2 weeks. As for Darko and Beasley, both are constantly in foul trouble, and Beasley has been banged up for the last week.

I mean, we do have the league's #1 pace. We are the league's #1 rebound team (probably related, I know). I wouldn't say we don't have an identity, it's just not particularly impressive.

His method was goofy and quirky at first, wasting picks on all those PG's but in the end he seems to have gotten it done.

I ignored pace because I don't think its something that necessarily correlates to success any more than the lack thereof.

I was fine w/ Casey, though I wasn't wild about that roster. I like our roster now a lot more, I just don't like their team development.

I like Rambis. He's doing alright considering what he has to work with. There's only a couple of guys that put forth consistent defensive effort.

Beasley and Love's D bothers me a lot. Beasley maybe more so, just because he is capable. Love tries sometimes, but he is just a bad defender. And as much as i watch for him to improve on D, it just doesn't seem like Love will ever improve on D much at all.

And my god, the perimeter D...UGH!!!!!!!! I'll get a migraine thinking about it.

Getting a consistent effort is part of the coaches job. The team is also sloppy and looks confused on offense. All I care about though is the results, this team doesn't have a ton of talent but Rambis isn't getting it to overacheive either.

I think Kahn gets three years, and if Kahn wants to let Rambis determine his fate that's his decision.

Rambis is a certified joke. His defensive scheme of letting teams jack up the three ball at will against us is beyond pathetic.

:( :( :( :(

EDIT: I think I might be done for the year, too, outside of watching Darko's statlines/highlights. I need to get back to studying (calc ii sucks).

Firing Rambis is bad for the tanking. Then again it's gonna be the worst draft in recent history.
