Because it's not going to happen. Okafor has been playing great as has West.

I live in NOLA and the organization is really happy with their production at the moment. I just don't see it.

read the articles...... WEST and NOLA havent come up with an extension...... OKAFOR there paying him too much.... the NBA had to buy NOLA which there losing money with the players...

carter might be rejuvinated with CP3..... they would get a young center and warrick at PF...... then they can trade the pick for Anthony RANDOLPH and they will be decent

No offense, but if carey lives in New Orleans, I'll take his word over whatever you got from some article.

I've read the articles, and more importantly I've read the local articles. We won't be seeing any trades involving the Hornets and especially their star players. Okafor is making a lot of money but he is a nightly double double that plays excellent defense. Have you watched what they are doing lately? They have won nine in a row. They beat the Hawks by 40 and the Spurs(!) by 24. They also beat OKC. I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but it's not happening.

Also, the reason West doesn't have a contract is because he's a jump shooting PF that shies away from contact. And while he's a decent defender I think you could plug numerous players in the league and get his production. Having said *all* of this, I like West at his current contract a heck of a lot, but he is looking for a big payday and the Hornets can't give it to him. If you want to know why, it's because New Orleans lives and dies off of tourism which is way down right now. They just don't have the big business to sell the high dollar club seats and sky-boxes. It really sucks, but almost everyone I know realizes we won't have a team here in 2 to 3 years. In fact, I'm sure Seattle is dusting off their Sonics gear and cleaning up Key Arena as we speak.

Sorry guys but VC can't be traded with other Suns players. But again the best trade for this team is:

PHX gets: Kaman (athletic big man) and Craig Smith (tough guy)

LA gets: Lopez, Warrick and Childress

DO IT PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I were Melo I'd almost be more tempted to play for the Clippers than the Knicks, and if I were Denver I'd jump on something like Kaman, Aminu, and a pick. And if I were the Clippers I'd crap myself to have a future of Griffin, Melo, and Gordon. Davis is starting to care again and Deandre Jordan and Bledsoe have been good. They'd be a legit team in need of just a couple more role players. I'd keep Kaman waiting for something better. I just don't think any of our guys are trade-able for an all-star calibur player.

I'm a Suns fan (lived in Phoenix from '92 to '04 - New Orleans didn't have a team when I moved out west) so it doesn't bother me as much as the others. It would definitely be another economic blow to a city still struggling to come back to life after the hurricane of '05. We still have the Saints though... if they were to leave this city would crumble.

NOBODY in the league wants wince carter, trust me. Suns would be lucky to get a 2nd round pick for him let alone David West. Sarver only traded for him for jersey, ticket sales and marketability. Every other owner in the league at least somewhat cares about their team's success.

I'm really sorry to heat that - I love the city and it should have an NBA team - I can't imagine losing my team twice

we traded for him as a larger expiring than JRich, and to get Gortat

larger expiring to do what??? sign smush parker and earl boykins for $15 million with that capspace?? we all know sarver isnt gonna do jack s**t with that cap space and if he does he will just overpay scrubs. j-rich was a perfect fit on this team with nash, i actually had hope that this team could still make noise in the playoffs cause jrich is such a damn good shooter and is a killer offensive weapon next to steve. now we have half lazy-half immoble as our starting sg...

What noise ? Suns would have nothing to make that noise. Even with JRich i can't imagine this team could beat anyone from top 6 teams in West (Lakers, Mavs, Hornets, Spurs, Jazz, Thunder) in playoff series. 7-8 seed top, fast and painless series for 1-2 seed. JRich if kept playing like he was, would get a lot of atention and lucrative offers. Suns would have to swing a nice offer too with full term years deal for 29yo guard. Team would stay with clogged cap space for next 3-4 years and not very usefull Turkoglu. JRich may be great right now but A he is reaching his prime soon leaving, Nash is making him so good (what after he's gone?) Make this decision wihtout knowing how new CBA is going to look like and how many games in next season is going to be played, lockout is a real possiblity so who knows.
And for how long and how well Nash is still gonna play ? When his fuel runs out Suns will become deep lottery team anyway.

So go for rebuilt mode now, get Gortat not so much expensive promising big man and dump Turkoglu (that was a big reason for this trade too). Short term sure, Suns would play a little bit better this season maybe next one. But after that ?

What's funny is we didn't. It's the same expiring. JRich is a $14M expiring, VC is a $18M expiring with a $4M buyout that counts against the cap next season.

OK guys if the Suns were to go after a PF or even a C by the trade deadline who do you think they should go after. BTW they should be able to fit the Suns' system and no ORDINARY players please like Zach Randolph (poison) and Landry. Oh before you guys start jumping down my throat about Zach Randolph, if he was so important to Memphis why would they sign Mike Conley to a contract extension before him and most of you know he was a poison since his Jail blazers days.

PF's SUNS should look at getting in my opinion

E. BRAND
D. WEST
Z-BO
C. VILLANUEVA
J. SMITH

but if we cant get a PF of this caliber this season I say we look to trade up and draft
Jared Sullinger!

or

trade a late pick for
Anthony Randolph

Ilyasova from the Bucks would be my number 1 target. They have Larry Sanders basically ready to take over the PF spot from him and Gooden. They could definitely use a back-up to Bogut, so I'd send them Lopez. Or Lopez and a first for Ilyasova and CDR or Mbah a Moute.

My second target would be Nene from Denver. I would send Lopez, Vince Carter, and a first the chance to get Nene and having to take on the contract of Al Harrington. Nash/Dudley/Hill/Nene/Gortat with key subs of Dragic/Harrington/Chilldress/Frye

My third target would be Millsap from Utah. It's unlikely they trade him but they have big Al and Okur. They also need to get this Fesenko kid minutes. He's in his 3rd year and they really need to decide what to do with him. Anyhow, I'd offer Lopez, MP, and Orlando's first.

That's all I got for now.
