the nuggets ARE NOT taking back kaman and his contract... the guy cant even stay out on the court and his contract is albatross... and if the clippers need to throw eric gordon in the deal the roster and already murky situation as a Clip becomes worse... no need to stress over the Clips... i really feel things are quiet and could go down soon... When things are most quiet Donnie usually makes his move... Either way we wont hear about it until its ABOUT to happen so as always... we wait

Knowing the Nuggets, they'll begin by insisting on Griffin.

With it looking more and more likely that Carmelo Anthony will end up in New York, the Nuggets are interested in power forward Anthony Randolph being part of a package the Knicks would send to Denver in exchange for the star forward, Newsday reported.

This contradicts earlier reports that said the Knicks would trade Randolph for a first-round draft pick, which they would then package in a deal for Anthony.
Report: Nuggets prefer Randolph over Fields in Melo trade talks with Knicks Denver reportedly is more interested in Knicks forward Anthony Randolph than Landry Fields as part of a Carmelo Anthony trade.

A source also told the newspaper that the Nuggets are not high on Knicks rookie Landry Fields, which may help facilitate the deal since New York is hesitant to give him up. A report on ESPN Radio last week said that the Nuggets turned down an offer from the Knicks that included Fields and Wilson Chandler, along with Eddy Curry’s expiring contract and a first-round pick.

Eric Gordon is probably untouchable for the Clippers, even though Griffin has been getting all the hype, Gordon has been carrying that team (yes with Griffins help).

What about using the Clips in a three-teamer if the Nuggets don't want Chandler? I think Will would fit in perfectly there and they have the cap room to resign him without going over.

Something Like:

Knicks Get:

C. Anthony
A. Harrington

Nuggets Get:

A. Farouq-Aminu
L. Fields
E. Bledsoe
E. Curry
R. Mason
2011 & 2013 first round picks from NYK (after Randolph for 2012 first)

Clipps Get:

W. Chandler
T. Mozgov

I think that works for everyone, though we would have to find a SG somewhere. Maybe we could get Kaman and go for a bigger lineup. Thoughts? Who wouldn't do that?

no way the clippers trade two players on rookie contracts for chandler (RFA) whos due a big payday and a stiff in mozgov. sterling loves players on cheap deals.

Not encouraging, frankly. Melo is most likely getting poor, selfish advice from his agents. I know it looks like the Knicks are home free but beware -- when dishonest people like Leon Rose and WWW are involved, you definitely cannot count on anything. What you can probably count on is a strange, manipulative or just plain bad set of events that pull the rug out from under you.

Seems like his agents will stand on their heads to get him to sign the extension before the deadline, and I think that Melo does not seem to get that he is definitely NOT screwed if he doesn't sign the extension. In fact, he'll be just fine.

However, Melo doesn't seem to grasp that and it's very probable that his agents are not informing him fully. Oh well.

someone needs to tell Melo that he probably isn't going to be leaving a huge amount on the table if he doesn't sign that extension. and could make back whatever hes giving up in endorsements fast.

Someone is his agents. But those someones don't care where he is -- they just want to get the extension done and out of the way.

interesting, I wonder if TD could fetch a 1st round pick from Memphis or another team.

if so

TD + Walker for 1st rounder?

AR + Chandler + Curry + 1st rounder to denver?

Keep Gallo + Fields, can keep them on the team or ship them out to get a legitimate big?

Hahn

Anthony Randolph's most significant contribution to the Knicks this season might come in the next few weeks, as a chip in a trade for Carmelo Anthony.

Initially it was believed that Randolph would be used to acquire a first-round pick, which teams such as the Pacers, Trail Blazers and Timberwolves were willing to offer for the 21-year-old forward. The Knicks could then flip that pick to the...

Fields is useless for Denver. They have Aaron Afflalo who is very similar and he's their future starting 2 guard. And then they also have JR smith coming off the bench. Randolph makes much more sense for them.

I think we're going to have to end up doing something like

Randolph
Gallinari
1st round pick (that we get by trading Wilson Chandler)
Curry (expiring)
2nd round picks

That's a lot for Melo especially since we're really the only bidders left but you must understand that Denver isn't trading him for peanuts. If we just lowball them they'll end up keeping him and the money situation might force him to sign an extension with them.
