Re: Jazz Trade Rumors
HAHA, I love this forum. We rotate between the same three trades and two or three discussions.
Rip is owed too much money over too long of a time for how much his production has dropped off.
Who has mentioned that the Jazz have interest in him? Of course KOC and Sloan say they know of no trade, because there is no trade happening here. Even if this trade was going to go down tomorrow, they would still say that they know nothing about it.

10% that is pretty low of a probability.
Yeah, people are whining about Bell and his productions. He is only making $3.2 and then $3.4. Rip is slightly better but making 4 times as much. Bell is two years older. Bell has a better FG%, FT%, and 3p% is the same. Rebounds and Steals are just about the same and Rip has a slight edge in the assists.

Correct, Rip was better in the past. Robert Parrish was better than Okur in the past, maybe we should go out and sign him...
I care about how they compare now and the rest of their contract.

Re: Jazz Trade Rumors
Detroit fans say they would do it for Okur and Bell. Seems like a low-risk/high-reward type of deal to me...and he fell out of the lineup because Detroit is rebuilding and wants to get their young guys minutes - same thing has happened to Ben Gordon. Trading Bell and Memo for Rip saves us $1,000,000 this year and Hamilton would be just as good as he has been for the past three years (his per 36 #s are essentially the same as they were before).

Re: Jazz Trade Rumors
Rip would give Jerry a wet dream with how he moves without the ball. I would do it for Okur and Bell, primarily because I don't tend to think Okur is going to overcome this injury and become what he was. This team is a mess right now, but unfortunately, I don't think anything changes.

Thank god the FO ponied up 10 mil a year to keep Okur into his twilight years, but can't overpay a little to keep Wesley for the mid-level.
Honestly, the only silver lining of this season so far is it might teach the front office a lesson about the importance of retaining youth and athleticism. In an increasingly athletic NBA, we can't get by with just a team of good skilled role players with below average size and/or athleticism. The more you know Kevin!

What we should do is trade CJ. He only has that young player premium in trade value for maybe this year, but its becoming increasingly obvious he cannot be the efficient bench scorer this team needs.

Re: Jazz Trade Rumors
if it was lopsided in our favor with future picks or something I'd do it. He cannot be worse than bell.. I watched Rip in person he's really good actually.. I don't fully understand the fallout in Detroit.
