This should be posted everyone says Denver is messing up their franchise by not trading Carmelo.
Dude...it IS a huge gamble, which if they lose could set the franchise back years. They are gambling that they can always get something from the Knicks at the end of the season in a sign and trade. That may not be true. If they get nothing, they will have a hard time rebuilding through picks and trades. Ask Minny how that is working out. Getting some young talent back plus a pick is essential to moving on. Picks can be moved for young players.
The way this guy keeps changing his tune says everything about why he is who he is. First he says he's not afraid to become a FA, then he emphasizes wanting the extension.
Duetta, you're a smart guy. You should know that any statement can be spun by the interviewer to reflect either side of the story. The reality is that we have no idea what Melo is saying or how he is saying it. By that, I mean inflection, sarcasm, whatever. To listen to all the stuff coming out is to get lost in the interpretation. Look for the general theme, not the details. He wants NY and there are a couple of ways he can get there.
Not to mention, we need to use some common sense in this. Who REALLY is going to trade for a guy that is set on going someplace else? Cuban has been saying that since preseason but nobody listened.
