The Jazz lineup should have been!

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Wed Jan 26, 2011 4:31 pm

Assuming no trades the past 2 years other than Al Jefferson, the Jazz would be better with the following starting lineup. We kept Matthews and let Boozer walk. The reason this was not done was because of money issues.

SG Wes Matthews
PG Dwill
C Al Jefferson
PF AK-47 (Keeps him near the basket where he helps defensively)
SF Miles (provides outside shooting and scoring)

Bench:
Millsap
Memo
Hayward
Maynor
Korver
Brewer

This team looks alot better than todays team!! A championship contender maybe!
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Yeah, of course it looks better! You know what would make it even better? Replace AK with Karl Malone. Given the reason we can't play Karl anymore is because he is too old, but if we are just throwing the rational of salary caps, and luxury taxes out the window... why not throw out the rational of aging as well. Do you have any idea what the Jazz would be paying out this year if they did this? Also, take into account that every team can only spend so much money every offseason (as mandated by the league, not by the Millers), and since Wes was a free agent we wouldn't be able to throw that much money at him AND resign Brewer, and Korver. Of course this is a better team! It's better because it is a dream. Just like the girl in my dreams is faaaaar better than the hookers I have to pay for a Z job.

Or if KoC had tried and given two ****, we could have THIS line-up:

Dwight
Dirk
Lebron
Kobe
Deron

Gasol
Jefferson
Gordon Hayward
Wade
Paul
Durant
Michael Jordan

I think you have to trade Deron in that scenario, start Paul, and pick up Rusty LaRue for the MLE to be his back-up.

I was going to make him a starter, but worried that replacing him with LBJ would weaken the bench too much

I'd sig it but

A) it's not formatted the best way

B) the context would be lost on anyone outside this thread...
