chuck hayes is 6'5.5" w/o shoes
blake griffin is 6'8.5" w/o shoes
someone is lying

Griffin is noticeably a couple inches taller than Hayes. Nobody is lying.

Biggest difference between Hill and Patterson is that Hill is an athlete. Patterson is a basketball player.

Not even convinced he is an athlete now. He doesn't jump as high as i thought he did. His hops are quite average.

Trade him before his trade value goes south!! When Brad Miller comes back, i'm not so sure Jordan Hill is going to be in the rotation anymore.

They were comparing Blake's performance against Rockets in Dec where he scored 24pts and was much better, but i recall, Jordan Hill was on Blake most of the time until Blake said something to Adelman about Hill not able to guard him after Adelman had scolded Hill....Rick proceeded to put Hayes on Blake after what Blake said..

probably, but he might have problems. Dirk is a shooter. Chuck is a low post defender and has problems when someone shoots over him and thus has to get in position to push the player out further. However, Dirk has range though. We'll see.

I don't think Dirk is a good match up for Hayes, but I would like to see Hayes prove me wrong.

I was thinking the same thing. Sadly we might see more HIll tomorrow just because he has long arms... Or maybe it would be best to put Battier on him especially since Butler is out.

Doesn't matter who is on Dirlk, who is going to guard terry and Barea?

I think Battier might be the best match up for him. There really isn't a guy in the league who could shut him down.

hayes is a bad matchup for nowitzki
all nowitzki do is spin off and shoot fade away jumper
battier got better chance guarding him

I agree about the comments that Patterson is a basketball player while Hill is just an athlete with a few basketball skills. He can jump pretty high, has long arms, and is relatively quick...but none of those traits of his stand out as extraordinary but rather slightly above average. His lack of strength reduces any leaping or quickness advantage he might have. Oh, and his stone hands don't help much either. If Patterson isn't better than Hill already, he certainly will be by next season.

Adelman on Hayes

(On Chuck’s defense): I tell this story all the time. When I had Buck Williams, Buck used to guard Karl Malone and all these guys and he’d always tell me, ‘He’s going to score 25 but he’s going to work his [butt] off to score. And in the fourth quarter I’m going to wear him down – I’m not going to give him anything easy.’ And with Chuck, nothing’s easy. If you’re going score, you’re going to have to earn it. And I think that has an effect on a guy when he’s guarding him. It took me a long time but I figured out he’s going to have to play more minutes.

He’s as good as any defender in the league in the low post. I’m going to start talking to coaches at the end of the year when they [vote for] the defensive teams. If he’s not on one of the defensive teams something’s wrong. This guy for two years has been 6-6 playing center against all these people and he defends them as well as anybody and he deserves the credit for it.

I'd love for Hayes to make the All-D team, unfortunately that's recently been something only based on your reputation.
