Hammers: Bobcats Vs Suns

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Thu Jan 27, 2011 4:23 am

Gold Hammer: Boris
Great 4 quarter effort and all round game. Besides, if I didn't give you the Gold I'd be scared the Suns announcers would hunt me down and kill me.

Silver Hammer: Hendo
Thought he came up big again when we needed someone to come up big.

Bronze Hammer: DJ
Like others would like to see his PT more evenly distributed, but thought he did well getting his own and getting looks for others. Nash did roast him though - but Nash is sexy.

HM: Single digit turn overs AGAIN!!!
(hard to believe 20+ a game was the norm for us not that long ago)

Lot of good in this game -

Gold – Diaw. Always steps up against Phx and Atl
Silver – Henderson – clutch shots.
Bronze – Wallace

Multiple HM’s – DJ –10 assists and 0 TO’s, Kwame with another quiet double double

Gold - Wallace. You've really got to compare this to his recent poor performance, and this shines by comparison.

Silver - Boris beating up on his old team.

Bronze - DJ with 10 and 0? Hot damn.

 Sometimes I wonder what DJ has to do not to be deserving a Hammer. Slam mentioned it himself, not only he got roasted by Nash (kind of rpedictable, Nash is indeed sexy) but he was hardly a factor offensively. We've said it time and time again, a fancy A/T ratio a la Calderon doesn't mean you've had a great game overall and this alone doesn't make you a good PG. It means you're being overcautious with the ball, not willing to take risks therefore not assuming your role as a floor leader. Exactly what DJ has been lacking. Plus, 10 assists at the pace this game was played and given how well we shot is nothing to brag about.
Also why does DJ almost always disappear late in games ? Damn, i'd prefer a thousand times having him shooting the ball down the strecth than freaking (Please Use More Appropriate Word) Jax with his now famous pumpfake/jab step/jab steb/airball 3 signature. Instead, DJ delegates this duty to a sophomore like Hendo who's been awesome closing out games for us. Hats off to the guy btw, he's really a nice piece to have on any team. Give him the start already.

Someone is a whiny **** today. 10 assists is not "nonexistent". 10 assists is not a failure to take risks.

Don't aviod the language filter.

wow, how did that get through the swear filter???

I thought DJ had a solid game. Even though Nash was unstoppable, DJ still looked a lot better guarding him than Livingston. I'm guessing Dj has been told to give the ball to Jax at the end of games.

I edited the size of the letter "t" to be 100. And Nash is plain hard to guard. No one ever really shuts him down. It's not like he had the best night of his career.
