Considering we have a hip hop thread and all, which is great cause I love hiphop, I figured what could it hurt if we had a classic rock thread. Since most people consider classic rock to be anything from the 60s and 70s, Im going to amend that to include anything up until 1981. I think 30 yrs or older is fair game for the genre.

Here's a few that are classics to me, I know the genre pretty well so if you can come up with some songs that are somewhat obscure but classics in their own right then please post them.

Cheers.

Mugzi, far be it for me to throw a monkey wrench into your thread :P but does this thread include neo-classic rockers that have come onto the scene whose music has been influenced greatly by the classic rock era? I would think that you would want that as is part of the lineage. Anyhow I posted a separate thread on this guy who reminds me a lot of Dylan and Mellencamp. His name is Jackie Greene. Check it out and let me know what you think.

You throw a monkey wrench? Nah. :D

Interesting question, I suppose that would be cool. I dont listen to alot of new music but if its got a classic rock influence then sure, why not. I listened to that song ' Shaky Ground' not bad. I can definitely see the Dylan/Mellencamp influence though I think its more the latter than the former.
