If we miss out on either P.Jones or Irving, then I take a Euro and leave him overseas.

Draft positioning for 2012 should start as soon as possible. There are probably 2 or 3 game changing/franchise type talents available and would be absolutely crushed if out lotto luck was used up for this draft.

Who are these game changers for next year?

M. Gilchrist (perfect SF for the Raps) and Quincy Miller. Davis and Rivers are also intriguing.

Don't too excited about measurements. If you want big, Valanciunus is 6'11" WITHOUT shoes, with a 7'6" wingspan.

Well for a good center its important he have the thickness that goes with the height along with other equally important tools, like skill. At least so we can differentiate the Araujos from the Kanters.

If he's 6'9 250lbs, I'm worried about his potential as a C.

If he's 6'11 250lbs, I'm more confident thats a legit NBA C size.

On another note, Valanciunas is reported to be 240, not 210.

im glad we won, but even when ucla is off, they are a very frustrating team to play.

They bring out the worst in everyone - just ask byu and kansas.

The biggest thing about Dwills development has been him controlling his fouls. COnsidering the refs in the pac10 and what type of calls they were making tonight, great job by him staying in the game.

This draft is EXTREMELY weak. There's so many things that need to be sorted out prior draft day

1. Are me moving Calderon or not?
And if we are, is Bayless the PG of the future or will we have him in a Barbosa-type role? I doubt we get a shot at Kyrie Irving (though its not impossible) but the above are things that need to be discussed and considered going into the draft.

2. Do we draft BPA or use the draft to fill a team need?
My Top 5 looks like this:
Irving
P. Jones
T. Jones
Sullinger
Kanter

It's looking like we draft in the Top 5 but not the Top 2. Right now, on a mix of hope and reality, I think No. 3 overall is realistic. We have holes at PG, SF & C. There is no way in HELL I take Kanter. No way. My first would be T. Jones (I thnk he'll translate into an amazing pro), Jared Sullinger (truly a great player but we have a TONNE of PF's) and if I have to, Harrison Barnes (has the tools but seems to lack the confidence in taking his game to the next level).

Either way, it seems like a big contract along with a PF NEEDS to be packaged for a pick(s) and either a) experienced vet on a cheaper shorter term contract, b) youth. Which leads to my last point.

3. Are we going to aquire a pick in the mid-first round?
We definitely should. Things will become a WHOLE lot easier once the lottery is completed. The we can know exactly who's most likely to go where. There are some interesting and perhaps servicable prospects in the middle of the pack. No stars but could potentially be consistant role players (Brandon Knight, Kawhi Leonard). I would dangle guys like Amir and MAYBE even Davis (if a SUPERB deal comes along and we draft Sullinger). Moving Bargs (which we badly need to do) could open up even more avenues.

Here's a nice column summarizing the debate going on in draft circles over Jimmer Fredette - the pros and cons. Scouts are fairly divided on whether he's a lottery pick or a rotation player best selected later.

BC was there scouting him Monday. So was Pat Riley, R.C. Buford and many, many other NBA watchers.

Although they also had Kawhi Leonard on the scope.

Also, Draftexpress has revised its mock - top 3 remain Irving, PJones and Valanciunas. Derrick Williams moved up to 4th, Kemba Walker to 7th, Harrison Barnes continues to fall off the map, down to 11th.

He doesn’t contribute in enough areas of the game besides scoring for me; does not set up teammates well or rebound; and is obviously lacking a defensive position.

This is the reason I think he's going to be an Eddie House type in the NBA.

Last year there were no international players selected in the lottery and only 1 in the entire first round. This year, a year in which we are tanking and will end up with a good pick, there are 4 international players slated to be picked in the first 10 picks.

For those that are tired of the 'Euro' movement, this draft will be like a landmine. BC could trigger one quite easily, causing a huge explosion on this forum. I expect the RealGM servers to be down for a while if that happens.

If we end up drafting 6th (I'm just saying if), and that once Irving, the jones brother, barnes and sullinger are off on the radar...and we are left with no choice but to choose one of those soft euros, then yes, I can totally see a judgment day happening on realgm.
