It's not that big of a deal to let go of an average qb, albeit with some potential and a mediocre coach. They could still maybe keep VY if the new coach wants to I guess

This is surprising but I'm thinking that maybe Fisher lost the locker room because of what happened with Vince.

they arent going anywhere. they were known for one of the most powerful fronts and mean spirited defense. now? all gone. thats not all coaching. the front office has to do their job in scouting and bringing in the right guys. the receiver position, for example, was a mystery and theyve never been able to fix that one single position on the team. and thats not to mention the other parts they just let walk away or somehow have deteriorated.

well according to the realgm article, it was because tennessee refused to hire fisher's son... so he's out. I doubt Vince really wants to stay after getting the boot.

There's more to it than the nepotism issue but that is ccertainly a factor.
Fisher wanted an extension a few months back and didn't get it, and wasn't going to get one. That made him a lame duck in the eyes of potential assitant coaches and he couldn't attract who he wanted because of it. He also knows how players handle lame duck coaches, like last year in Carolina and Cincinnati (even though Lewis came back). The players don't fully buy into the coach because the chances are very high he'll be gone, happens all the time. It's why both coaches and teams try to never get to that point.
Young will still be axed.
Everyone seems to think Mike Munchak is going to get the job. The timing is real interesting because Senior Bowl week is sort of a coaching search clearing house and they did it after all the coaches had already left. There were talks of Eric Mangini being the new DC and I wonder if he somehow horns himself in there.
I bet Jerry Jones is bent that this happened. The primary holdup back when he hired Garrett was that he was waiting to see who won the Fisher/VY war; he was ready to pounce on Fisher if Young was staying. Two different Cowboys beat writers said as much, so did Jay Glazer.

It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

Even if Vince wanted to stay, I think it would be best to start over. The people in Tenn. thinks Fisher is a god, and they will always blame Vince for his departure. So best bet is to go somewhere new with a coach that wants him.
