Allstar Game

West Conference Allstars, Chris Paul gets in.

Parker or Westbrook may take the back up spot. I kind of hope it happens to motivate Williams.

Yet another reason Deron's career suffers from being in Utah.

Its not gonna motivate him to do anything but go someplace where his talents are recognized and appreciated.

It's not like he's getting snubbed. He's still a great player and all but in regards to records and recent play I don't think he deserves it.

The Jazz still have a solid record- the record is not the problem. His play hasn't been fanfreakingtastic lately, but hes still the best player on one of the best (record wise) teams in the West, and the schedule is easier right now, so he could pick up momentum.

Deron NOT being an all-star, is to me, a snub.

CP3 getting the start is a joke. I would have picked Westbrook, Deron or TP over him. He really isn't having a very good/impressive year outside of being efficient and his team winning. His numbers are down compared to his other years while all the other guards numbers are up. I hate having the fans vote in the starters.

Deron will get in. If everyone on the TNT crew had him making it on their backup lists with no debate then he will make it. They are usually pretty dang close to what the coaches vote.

It's not a joke, and Westbrook and Deron will both be on the team.

CP3 isn't a joke. At all. Ever. We have to dislike him as Jazz fans, but I mean, hes pretty effing good. He does as much as Deron does, with less to work with, in an even worse market.

Agree completely. Not a snub at all.

Didn't you just say above that Deron's career (in this case, All Star nods) is suffering from being in Utah? Why are Paul's talents "appreciated and recognized?" Shouldn't he be suffering worse, since he's in a worse market?

I should have said a smaller market as opposed to a worse market. Thats my bad. NO is definitely more of a media darling, despite being a smaller market, than Utah, and that plays heavily into it. Look at the Drew Brees love over the last year.

Are we really acting like he won't get the nod? Only thing stopping him is this potential wrist injury.

Why is this news? All the ballot returns showed CP3 starting. DWill will get picked by the coaches as a reserve.

They can't take every PG in the league. Westbrook and Parker deserve spots too. I don't see them carrying 4 pgs on the roster. Its not like they need shooting guard replacements. Who gets left out? Division leader/statistically brilliant Westbrook, or league record leading/statistically solid Parker?

Or Deron? Wouldn't be the first time this has happened- see his second and third seasons in the league.

The NBA hype machine at it's best. Chris Paul is such a poster boy for them. I like this though, I think it will piss off Deron and make him play out of his mind, which we need.

It's not exactly A.C. Green over Karl Malone.

I can agree with that. Whether it's from Katrina or for other reasons, the NBA is all about New Orleans and, I suppose by extension, Paul.

I'd love to see what the voting was like last year. I bet Paul still got more votes than Deron even though he was injured most of the season.

NO W10
UT L6

Though, Dwills last game definitely doesn't hurt any. Personally I think the coaches put him in.

Media darlings and poster boys should get more nationally televised games I'd think. The tv is a big part of media is it not? The Hornets have 1 ESPN game all season. Drew Brees got a lot of attention because of how the Saints were playing and coming off of a Superbowl Championship.

Well then I guess you haven't noticed how magically Deron has been dropped from all conversations about the best PG in the league. Now it's all about Rose and Paul. I don't care how many nationally televised games the Hornets get (that has more to do with them as a team than having an NBA poster boy), Paul has been a major NBA poster boy since the day he was drafted. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it, but Deron certainly suffers from some sort of stigma, and if he has a few bad games in a row, he is just tossed aside. When Rose has a game like Deron had last game, you never stop hearing about it, win or lose. I didn't hear a lot about Deron's game. I guess his superior athleticism makes him more fun to watch and a better finisher at the rim, but other than that, he isn't vastly superior to Deron in any way and is still a lesser passer.
