OT: Derrick Williams is listed at #1 on NBADraft.net

Post#1 » by SideSwipe » Tue Jan 25, 2011 9:17 pm

Anybody notice that Derrick Williams was listed at #1 on NBADraft.net? I really like his game, and I'm not being an Arizona homer. I think he could fit in great in the league. He is a tweener, but he is a guy who might do well in PHX, or other faster-paced tempo's. 19.7 and 8 averages on 62.5% shooting with 70.5% shooting from three. Anyway, the disparity between his stock on NBADraft.net and Draftexpress.com is what is really shocking. Draft express has him at #15. I like the guy a lot, but I am hoping he will drop. I am hoping people take Kyrie and Perry way before Derrick. thoughts?

Depends who's on/off the board, Suns will probably be picking between #10-14

I doubt he goes before Irving or Jones though

I dont trust NBADraft.net. They also dont have Kemba Walker in the top 10 (#15). I go by what DraftExpress says.

As for Williams, i'd pass.

agreed, I trust draftexpress over nbadraft.net. I think Williams is a great talent but I don't think he is first overall pick material, I'd say between 5th and 10th.

I'm still going with Kawhi Leonard for the suns, this kid has the everything. can score from anywhere, tremendous rebounder, good passer, and a very good defender. He also play great "team" basketball for sdsu.

I know you love Walker, who is a great player, but I like Leonard. I think he has more potential to be a better player
I like Draft Picks/Cap Space, long walks on the beach, and short youtube clips.

I dont really see him being that good and bad #1 pick if someone takes him. he is a sold player. I think he could be a Carly Landry type of player. Undersized, decent player, but not a top pick.

Plus, the pac 10 is down again. There is really no talent in this conf this year. So he is going to dominate it. There is 10 players that I would take over him in a heart beat.

I very rarely care about collegiate players / draft players, they won't be any good in the first couple of years. Neither will their teams unless they've snuck up into the draft lottery.
The Phoenix Suns - 54-28. Projected Record: 54-28 3rd Seed

The Phoenix Suns - 2010-2011 Projected Record: 30-52 3rd lottery pick.

Yeah. No way Derrick Williams is the number 1 pick. He is a very poor man's David West

Leonard's rebounds looks great, but another SF? We might already have enough of those. :o

For those that think Williams is a poor man's David West....Williams is far more athletic than West and a far better distance shooter. He is really more like a young Antawn Jamison from my perspective, with more inside touch.

If anything Derrick Williams is a rich mans David West. Could be a better Antawn Jamison.

nbadraft.net has him at #2 right now, draftexpress at #5

Does Derrick Williams mean a combo of Derrick Rose + Deron Williams?

If Dwayne Collins = Dwayne Jones + Jarron Collins, then Derrick Williams would have to be

Derrick Coleman + Jayson Williams, right? ;)
