stan will be fired this summer so its all good. maybe even otis as well.

if they see dwight is in no hurry to sign that extension the organization will panic.

we would be **** if we lose the one and only dominant center in the league. thats the one position thats hard to replace.

i would love to get our hands on one of these young coaches.

I wonder what the owners think bout all this .. Bob Vander Weide is a smart man and I think "the family" will in some way respond to the whole Dwight thing if it keeps going downhill.

I also wonder if Tom Izzo or Mike Kryzewski are available, I'm not a big follower of College ball, but from what I know these are great coaches .. Maybe, if if if if if, they could be good options if Stan & ORL's way would ever part .. I can remember LeBron saying he would love Izzo as replacement for MBrown last year. And I think we all know how good Coach K is

Don't get me wrong, I think Stan shouldn't get all the blame but trust is also a big factor in this league, look at Mike Brown. He's not a bad coach, but LeBron lost confidence in him which lead to ..

I think Stan's not a bad coach at all, but if he would adjust his system just a lil bit, this team would be alot better .. Cause talent-wise, we're right on the same level as the other contenders, so the problem lies elsewhere

coach K and Izzo will never leave college bball. they've been pursued by nba teams for years and always turn the opportunity down.

Ah ok, didn't know that .. It's hard to follow college ball here in Europe :D

You mentioned "one of these young coaches", can you give us some examples? I can't think of anyone

For now, I just hope Stan gets this mess cleaned up before the playoffs, cause I can't see a coaching change soon. For the future .. That's another story

I could care less about right now. Stan has taken us to back to back ECFs against stiff competition. Despite their age, the Celtics have one of the best starting 5s in history. A lot of really great teams are being built in Miami, Chicago, here. All these teams compete with each other. They beat each other.

IT HAPPENS. TEAMS LOSE GAMES.

Everyone makes it sound like we have a serious problem because the Magic don't play perfect every night. Every team has flaws. It's all about who plays the best come playoff time and comes out on top. Simple as that. Miami lacks frontcourt talent, Boston is old, Chicago is really balanced but they haven't proven anything in the postseason. And the Magic gets burnt by guards.

I will say our team is clutch as $hit. The few comebacks we have had since the trades means a lot. It's something this team has lacked the past few years. The regular season is a bunch of bull anyway. The season will come down to few possessions in a few big games in a few big playoff series and that's it. We know this more than anyone (What if CLee made that oop?)

:o So now a young coach with no record is going to lead us to a championship before Dwight bolts. The logic of the fire Stan crowd is non existent.

And if managment is as equally silly theres no worry for Stan. he collects on the contract and will be with another team before the summer is over. Stan is widely respected among NBA professionals ( not so much forum wannabes)

Might even be coaching Dwight elsewhere

I do not think he is. I think he is a very good coach but he lacks the X's and O's to be a championship coach. Jerry Sloan is a guy who could win a title with Orlando. I don't know if Stan is that guy. That being said, I don't know how many good coaches tehre are anymore. Doc Rivers was not a good coach, Stan is better then he is. It really all depends on who the players are, and how willing they are to buy in to an X's and O's system. Orlando either doesn't buy in to the system, or Stan can't run the system.

Or maybe the players aren't good enough?

 @ this dude.

Maginno is like that obsessed cop from Saw V that knew the answers to all of his questions but was too focused on trying to prove he was smarter than the killer (the OP) that he ends up getting crushed between my posts as I make my escape.

well they either have to take a chance or end up having dwight leave anyway.

there are some coaches who won rings within a short amount of time with a team. rudy tomjanovich won the rockets a championship within his 2nd season, greg pop his 3rd with san antonio.

theres some young assitant coaches in the league who i'm sure could fill stan's spot.

and how is stan respected amongst nba professionsals when his own players don't even respect him?

and dwight would never end up on another team with the fat man.

Why do you think that? When I hear Dwight describe his relationship with Stan as being similar to a father-son relationship, it sure sounds like respect to me. I realize Dwight isn't going to describe his relationship with Stan in a negative way, but those are still some very carefully chosen words that wouldn't be used if the respect were not there.

Quick, let's hire Jim O'Brien. He never runs any plays, so you guys would love him.

That's the thing, it is always a combination of both. Stan isn't the coach to take this Magic team to a title, but guys like Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, I even think Sloan could. But I don't think Van Gundy can. They still look lost when teams single cover Dwight. These guys relax, and are purely 3 point shooters. And Orlando has wing players that are capable of so much more then that. MP was a prime example of that when he was with Orlando. He could have been great, but was content bombing 3's, after awhile taht was all he knew how to do. It's Stans job to get more out of them, he doesn't do it. In two years Dwights gonna be in LA, or some market similar, so lets enjoy this good team while we have it to enjoy.

A guy like Doc Rivers won a title in Boston, but when he was in Orlando he wasn't any better then Stan is now. I think Stan could win with teams like Boston, or even Miami, LA. I just don't know if he can do it in Orlando. I don't think there is anyone better Orlando could get, so I don't see the point in all the Van Gundy threads. I think people just need to realize for the Magic this is as good as it gets.
