The Grizz trading for a draft pick is the biggest waste of time. They obviously do not have a clue regarding talent evaluation. Trading w/New Jersey only makes sense if we are acquiring Devin Harris which would mean moving off of Mike Conley. (highly unlikely) The report actually had Jersey interested in acquiring Zach Randolph, which would have to involve Troy Murphy and his 11 million expiring, plus a #1 and maybe Morrow would not be a bad coup for Zach which is better than him walking this offseason as that makes the third team to express interest in him. Detroit, Golden State, and now New Jersey. It is probably best to go ahead and lock him up now, but I personally don't favor keeping a core together that is not capable of winning games.

As for Charlotte, Tyrus is not a clear front line consistent starter and in the Western Conf you need a PF that can hold his own if you intend to compete. I am down with Charlotte as a trade partner if we can swing:
Stephen Jackson & Kwame Brown
for
OJ Mayo & Hasheem Thabeet

Salary wise they match and the Grizz settle the SG issue, by having a shooter who can defend and is still mentally tough. They also get a cheap backup center who can catch the ball in the post.

No idea why Charlotte would be open to this other than they want to make a change and they do save a year off of the third year from Jackson's deal.

I'm thinking something like this would be great for both teams...

New Jersey outgoing:
Anthony Morrow
Kris Humphries
2012 GSW 1st

Memphis outgoing:
O.J. Mayo
Darrell Arthur
Hamed Haddadi

We really don't need another SG unless he would clearly be the #1 as we would still have three on the roster after trading OJ. Including Darrell Arthur is a non starter, not that he is untouchable but we would be creating an unecessary issue because the current Mr. Kardishan does not rebound.

Furthermore a #1 pick is nice but the team does not need to get any younger and the organization has proven then have no idea what to do with a lottery pick, a late first, and even a second round pick.

The Grizz complain about the lack of rebounding that Darrell Arthur gives us and he averages 6 rebounds a game. Kris Humpries averages 7 per rebounds a game this season.

Umm Blatantly False would seem a bit strong considering the facts?

You're right, but your trade proposal is still terrible.

I stand corrected then, my source was the realgm player page but Hoopsworld stat page has him at 9.2 which is pretty good. Although as the previous poster said the trade would still be a no go as constructed.

Aside from the trade, Humphries has always been a very good rebounder.

Am I the only one who sees our trading options as very slight if any? If we can't afford to let Zach go and we are going to be a little more patient with OJ Mayo that leaves very little room to make a significant deal.

Hey guys. I posted this on the trade board and wanted to invite you to share your opinions:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1086647

It nets you Andray Blatche and Gerald Henderson (expiring) for Mayo and Allen.

Every time I saw Blatche's play, I'm really doubted if he has brain. Henderson looks like a plain bust.

Then you think it'd be possible if Griz trade two precious guys for those two useless players?

If you want Mayo, give us Wall.

How about we trade for Bargnani?

Mayo + Thabeet + Young for Bargs + Weens works...

Golden State did not bite when we offered Mayo & Thabeet for Ellis when they were drinking the Curry kool Aide so it would probably take a lot more than what we are willing to part with to acquire him now.

Wise words.

A guy who's young..currently outscoring Kobe ,Wade + Dirk...and at a lot less money is what you want to buy...not sell.

What do you guys value Mayo at? Like what is a player who you think is at equal value. Would you trade him/what do you want in return. Anything from TOR?
