He was supposed to be back by now, but they thought he came back too early which lead to the quick exit after coming back. Reports are early - mid February.

well there you have it. he never plays

Yeah i would do Crash for Jason Thompson straight up, Sac can absorb the salary, and we would get a TPE of the difference.

Thompson can take TT's role until he is healthy, then once Thompson gets used to the system and players we can move him to the starting 5

THompson is a PF, not a center.

If we make that sort of trade, though, we lose a lot of our "ceiling," like I said. For all we know, Wallace will revert to his old self any day now, which would provide us with a much bigger boost than someone like Jason Thompson. Maybe if we got a legit starting center and a decent backup PG? We don't need backup PFs, swingmen, or centers (assuming we keep at least one of Mohammed/Brown).

They talked about how it was Mohammed's 13th season, and I remember another time where they said it was Kwame's 10th season. That's kinda crazy. Mohammed seemed ancient back when we traded for him a few seasons ago. I would have never guessed that Kwame has been in the league just three seasons fewer than Mohammed.

Hroford is a pf plays center. Al Jefferson is a pf plays center. Thompson is a pf can play center. Just because he's suited to play pf doesn't mean he can't play, rotate at center. Most of our starters are versatile anyway, they can play 2-3 positions.

Horford is a tank, even though he's 6'9" he can guard any center in the league. same goes for Jefferson. Thompson on the other hand, has a tyrus thomas like skinny frame and would get raped night in and night out by any big PF or center

Not really. Maybe guys like Trey Thompkins, JaJuan Johnson or the Morris twins but they are sort of like Jason Thompson (probably more a 4's than a 5's).

It's a pity Renardo Sidney is such a meat head because he projects to be a 5 in the NBA - but he's more Eddy Curry like than anything - on and off the court!!

Our other coach would never have done that and just let the kids run out the game. He still would have played the starters 35+ meaningless mins each.

I fully agree. With a road trip, those guys need rest, especially after playing the Suns. It's good for the young guys to get those useless burn minutes.

Collins should have gotten at least 15 though.

I'm almost positive that he isn't active for this road trip. I know he wasn't active last night.

With Diop permanently on the IR, Tyrus permanently on the IR, I guess it makes sense to put a guard down there to keep the team balanced. I'd just rather see Livingston there than Sherron, but I think his ability to guard 2's keeps him on the court...
