That's strange. They seem to have taken the article down now?

Lighter mood helps lighten the load.

It’s debatable whether the Charlotte Bobcats are better since the coaching change, but this much is undeniable: They’re way happier

“A whole different atmosphere,’’ co-captain Jackson said of Paul Silas replacing Brown.

“Everybody’s confidence is high right now. Give all our thanks to coach (Silas); he’s got everybody feeling good about playing basketball again.

“When was the last time you saw guys hanging out after practice, just laughing and joking?’’ Wallace asked rhetorically. “The atmosphere is totally different.

“The mood is more calm, guys are more relaxed. They’re more enjoyable to be around now that everybody isn’t moody anymore.’’

found this line interesting

“We probably did more running today (at practice) than we did all season with L.B. and guys are still hanging out after practice. That’s something you just did not see before."

At this stage Coach Silas is giving MJ no choice but to extend him.

Right?

Right?

Especially if it's on the cheap. But he's getting old. I doubt he coaches for more than 5 years tops. 3 is more likely.

Who needs scouts when you have the Jesus of basketball as team owner? That's probably how MJ justified it.

Google trends probably clues him in to where his articles and name are discussed most. He probably reads a few posts to see the general temp.

Here's a question. Say we make the playoffs and Silas returns for one, MAYBE two more season after this. Would Stephen Silas be an option to succeed his father? I posed this question in a game thread against the warriors. Stephen is pretty highly regarded by everyone who talks about him. He supposedly has a real good relatinoship with the players, much like his father. He has also done great things wherever he has been. He really was a huge reason for the development of Curry and Ellis in GS, and now here with DJ. His knowledge for the game is extensive, an dhe is young and up and coming. Would Stephen Silas be an option MJ would look at to take over after Paul? And if he did, would you like that type move?

I think I would rather Stephen Silas over Patrick Ewing.

I'd run with Stephen. Big Silas did wonders for the Hornets, don't see why little Silas can't do the same for the Bobcats.

IMO, my two choices at this point would be Stephen Silas or Charles Oakley if Paul doesn't want to coach again next year. I'd take any of them over Ewing.

Why would Paul Silas not want to stick around? Always looks to me like he's having a great time and he doesn't seem that old...

I'd like to see him stay for another year if this good play continues, and if he wants to coach us. He has earned the right so far and clearly the players love playing for him.

On a side notes, I saw where Bonnell was wondering if LB might be in the Pacers future after firing O'Brien. I would love that. It would be awesome to see the Cats and Pacers fight it out for a playoff spot with LB having to face the team he pooped on. I bet DJ and company would go crazy on them simply from the sheer joy of having a chance to cram crow down LB's throat.

Maybe he misses bingo night at the retirement home?
