I really, really liked Rapsobsessed's idea of Kleiza-Dorsey-Evans-MIA 1st for Childress-Lopez. Cleans up our rotation a ton.

Not mainly based on his boarding but in the PHX system you need to be effective on both ends and I dont think he has what it takes to be a good offensive piece hense putting him next to Andrea.
I agree;
As I said earlier unlike a lot of the fives we have on our roster who have never shown an ability to rebound in their career, Lopez has.
He showed it at Stanford, and she showed a few seasons ago with the Suns.
His offensive game is limited, but certainly better then JuJu or Evans who we have been relying on under the basket this season. He can score on putbacks and he plays under the hoop.
He also doesnt need to throw on 30 lbs like Alexi or Alabi to play the position, he is physically a finished product.
I don't think Alabi or Ajinca have what it take to be a 35+ MPG Centre in this league. They both seem like guys who would be able to conquer a 10-15 MPG role off the bench. Neither looks like they would flourish in a starters spot but Lopez can easily do that in Toronto because as you said he already has the size and the ability. Even though his offensive game is limited we wouldn't need him to be an offensive weapon merely someone who can work the offensive glass and get a few putbacks or kick it out to one of our shooters.

After you see Childress' contract you will see why it's not a good deal. Dorsey is still a legit rebounder sort of Reggie-esque but in much better shape physically. His offer next year will be so low that we could add it on our roster as an insurance big and it wouldn't effect our cap situation. I personally would rather have Kleiza than Childress because Kleiza can have some value on the market next season or in the off-season in a trade. He hasn't been great but he hasn't been lol-bad that we should trade him for Childress.

Oh, I'm well aware of Chill's contract, and I still do that trade. I think he's as likely to regain value as Kleiza and the benefit of getting Lopez makes it even more attractive. If we can do the deal with Wright instead of Dorsey, fine. Chill will be doing most of the things that Wright does anyway.

I just don't see Childress has a guy with good value. Atlanta passed on him twice (1st time he went to Europe, 2nd time to Suns). He just isn't as good as he is made out to be. He plays like Hedo needed the ball to be effective and isn't much of a good defender. I still think Kleiza's value is much higher and we could deal him to a contendor in need of a 3pt shooter.

Also if you check out 82games.com it shows that units where Childress is on the floor the team plays at 25% efficiency or less and when Kleiza is on the floor for the Raps its something like 60%+

Raps In:
Michael Redd
Corey Magette
Bucks in:
Barbosa, Reggie Evans, Kleiza, Amir Johnson
Barbosa, Kleiza and Johnson could be impact players for Milwaukee
I mean they are playing Boykins! so Barbosa would be a huge upgrade!
I also covet Michael Redds GIGANTIC expiring which could possibly help us pay for a guy like Chandler or Nene and if the cap drops significantly we are safe! Magette would start at the 3 for us immediately. This seems like a good trade for both teams.

Why would we ever do this? Maggette is having his worst season and Redd is done. I'd rather hold on to our players.

We get $20 million in cap space and get rid of Kleiza but take on Magette. A change of scenery could help Magette since he is a scorer and he can't do what he does in Milwaukee with chuckers like Jennings, Delfino, Salmons.

No we wouldn't. We'd have about $7.4 million extra in space next year compared to whether we kept all those players and Leandro Barbosa did not opt out of his deal.
You could create even more space by just trading Barbosa for an expiring contract. And then we wouldn't have to pay Corey Maggette until 2013.

Re: 2010 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
What about this. Memphis was apparently in Toronto. Kahn came to a raptor game so combine them
To TOR: Flynn + 5.8 million TE
To MEM: Dorsey + Ridnour + MIN 2nd
To MIN: Thabeet + Calderon + MIA 1st
* could switch Ridnour for Telfair but I thought they wouldn't want that money tied into PG with Rubio/Calderon
Raptors get a younger PG
Memphis helps 3 point shooting with Luke as a backup PG. Get Dorsey who played college ball in Memphis so he's probably a fan favorite
MIN gets a young C to round out their former 1st round picks. Calderon brings Rubio over next year and they grab another late pick
Flynn / Bayless
Derozan / Weems
Barnes (drafted)/ Klezia
Davis / Johnson
Bargnani / Center (Barbosa trade) / Alabi
Love that team

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Re: 2010 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
I wanna start this by letting everyone know on this forum i'm a bargnani fan. I'm just thinking about the raps first because I care more about the team than a defenseless player. He is somewhat valuable this year, and put on the right team his weaknesses will not be shown and his strengths will be used more.
So with all that being said he belongs on the LA Clippers beside Griffin, so i've put together two trades that helps us much more for next year and beyond.
Raps Trade:
Jose Calderon
Andrea Bargnani
Solomon Alabi
Clippers Trade:
Baron Davis
DeAndre Jordan
LAC 2011 1st round pick
Raps Trade:
Bosh TPE (If need to add MIA 1st and our 2nd round picks only if needed)
Clippers Trade:
Chris Kaman
2011 NBA Draft:
Our pick top 5 (Kyrie Irving or Perry Jones)
LAC pick top 9 as of right now (Terrance Jones,Harrison Barnes,Kemba Walker,Jimmer Fedette,or Brandon Knight)
This all depends on who we picked 1st and who's left for the Clippers pick but i believe one of these valuable guys will be their for the clippers pick because this is a draft full of bigs in the lottery and can be picked in the top 5 too.
Raptors Lineup Next Year:
Kemba Walker/Jerryd Bayless
Demar DeRozan/ Sonny Weems
Perry Jones/ Linas Klezia
Ed Davis/ Amir Johnson
Chris Kaman/ DeAndre Jordan
This is for sure a playoffs team if we want we could make an offer to perkins to backup Kaman instead of Jordan, I would like opinions on this.

Raptors list of rookies should be PJ3, Lillard, Rivers, Waiters, or Harkless.
I say draft Lillard, Waiters, or Harkless.

Was on nbadraft.net and came across a poster who was giving out insider info.... I think Granger for Amir, weems & TPE. What suggestions do you guys have based on some of the players mentioned( even calderon for miller/prince sounds good).

Granger is worth waaaaaaay more than that.
The sentiment to trade for Granger is worth noting. I would rather have him on the outside paired with Derozan. Trade Bargs for him.

LOL clicked on the link and link not found. That is just silly.. We can't even trade the whole team for Granger.

Interesting idea. I do have a few thoughts though:
1. This would be a pretty great squad first off let me say. I just don't know if it works salary-wise. First off, Kaman still has 2yrs/22 million left on his contract, Baron Davis still has 3 yrs left with his salary being over 14 million in year 3. Plus, Barbosa & Wright weren't accounted for. I guess you're implying that we don't resign Wright but almost certainly, Barbosa will invoke his player option. If the numbers work, then my only personal problem would be paying B. Diddy that much for so long.
2. Your drafting decisions I don't actually agree with. First of all, it's looking very unlikely that we will draft Perry Jones though it would be nice. I see us drafting probably 3-5 realistically. If I land in there, I'm drafting Terrance Jones personally. You also mentioned drafting Kemba Walker. According to what I read about Walker, he's more of a undersized scoring point and we kinda already have that in Bayless. With the Clippers 9th pick (because there's basically only SF left in the lottery at this point) I'd either draft Kawhi Leonard, Derrick Williams or use it in a trade. There will be a lot of teams looking to move up come draft night. Or we could always draft Sullinger with our pick and pick up a SF with the Clippers pick.
3. I would love to see DeAndre Jordan in a Raps uniform. The only "trouble" might come if a team with a lot of money is looking into acquiring him this offseason, we could wind up in some financial issues or giving up what I think was the best asset in the trade.
Other than that though....I think this trade is pretty good.

And why would the Clippers do that?
Baron, DeAndre AND a 1st round pick for 2 guys we're desperate to get rid of because they can't play defense?
Oh, and they'll throw in Kaman for a TPE.
Come on, use your brain.

^^ I don't think the Clippers give up both DeAndre and Kaman if they're taking on Bargs, who might be a good offensive fit with Blake, but both of them are subpar defenders.
I really like the idea of trading for DeAndre though. A frontcourt of Davis/DeAndre/Amir would be awesome...48 mins of solid interior D/shotblocking/rebounding/efficient offense (and hopefully we could get some help at PG/SF through the draft).
I'd like to do something centered around Bargs+Weems (+Miami pick?) for Aminu+DeAndre+filler.
