The Pacers seem to be rebuilding and having 3 lottery picks would surely help rebuilding
Rip and CV would help IND at least be competive. They are looking for a sg and a pf.

Chad Ford Espn:

The Pacers have long maintained that Granger is the core of their team and off limits. However, as our own Marc Stein has reported, a number of GMs in the league now believe Granger could be had for two major assets. Granger isn't having a career season, but he is only 27, has a reasonable contract and is the type of player every coach wants in the locker room.

What is Indiana looking for? Ideally, it'd get a power forward and a 2-guard who can create his own shot off the dribble. It would take a pretty big package for Indiana to let go of Granger, but it sounds as if, for the first time, he's no longer untouchable.

Anthony Parker is a half year rental some contenting team would trade for, as they're trying to make a deeper run into the playoffs.

The Clippers aren't that kind of a team yet and have no business giving up 2nd round picks for a guy in his 30's that could leave at seasons end.

Isnt that what you're looking for though? A cheap expiring that can play the 3? The Clips have reportedly been open to trading Kaman for someone like Prince.. Wouldnt Prince be (most likely) a half year rental as well since he would leave for a contender once the season ends. This trade allows you to keep Kaman while his value is low and trade for a serviceable upgrade at the 3 spot who is both cheap and expiring. This gives you further time to develop Aminu from a mental standpoint while also making a playoff push. Prince would definitely be an upgrade over Parker but isnt Parker a better option considering you only give up 2nd Rounders rather than an all star caliber center when his value is at his lowest? If I were the Clippers, I would hold onto Kaman and only trade him if I get a clear upgrade at a position and the player coming back is young. If Kaman make a healthy return, I would think you can sell high on him to a team in need of center (OKC, for example)

Mayo would of been a good replacement for ej , whie he is out with his injury. It sucks now that mayo has been suspended for the 10 games. Well, maybe we there is a better chance of getting him now. It would be a solid 3 man rotation with Baron (30mpg), EJ (36mpg) and Mayo (30mpg). Also, remember VDN likes to go with the three guard line up sometimes as well.

Why would Mayo's suspension suck? He isn't on the team and hopefully won't be in the future.

Clippers FO would make that move without even thinking twice, but it's not gonna happen.

Kaman/Butler to Denver for JR Smith/Kmart.

JR smith provides instant offense off the bench and Kmart is an expiring contract.

Then in the offseason, make a run at Melo as a free agent.

I would rather deal Kaman to the Rockets for Aaron Brooks and one of the Rockets swingman.

Clippers need a long term solution at PG and SF.

Bledsoe, Butler, Smith for Mayo and Thabeet. Clippers get the bench scorer that they need and the Clippers currently have two point guards that shoot under 30% from three. Mayo is a 36-38% three point shooter. Memphis dumps Thabeet's salary and ads a good young back up point guard. Butler and Smith are expirings, so they save 3 million this season and 8 million for next season. Clippers still have Kaman, Amino and their picks to use for a SF. If Mayo replaces Bledsoe, then there would be less of a need for a spot up shooting small forward, so then Iguodala or GWallace would work there.

hey i was wondering if your interested in Barbosa? Someone on the trade thread (Clipper fan) said in the team needs thread that they need a combo scoring guard off the bench. Barbosa brings that.

Barbosa

for

Butler
Warren

??

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Yes we need scoring off the bench.

Though, Barbosa's been pretty bad the last several years and even if we'd trade for him, we wouldn't give up just expirings.
Randy Foye would be the guy going out as well, as having him and Barbosa on the bench would be redundant.

All things considered, I do not think that Barbosa's a guy we should trade for.

I'd love to have Barbosa, but you have to take Foye in return.

What does everyone think about Caron Butler? This would obviously be for setting up next season, but maybe his value to Dallas has taken a hit because of the injury?

He could be an option in free agency, but I'm not so sure about him, because he probably won't be able to show that he's back again before next season.

And he certainly isn't an option via trade for us.

Yeah there definitely are risks with Butler, but I really think there's a good opportunity of being rewarded by taking a chance on him, with his value perhaps lowered with his season ending injury.
