Re: OT: I-Pad Help
I don't think the reason that Apple not wanting to use Flash is because Apple OS is so advanced but because they feel that Flash is the root of a lot of problems that causes system instability and one of Apple's biggest selling points is how stable their OS is compared to Windows. At least that was a big reason for why Apple OS has never been Flash friendly.
As far as Skyfire goes, what it does apparently is to not "enable" flash but rather routes the request to their own internal servers where they thereby "displays" the content as something else. It's basically a work around and won't address all possible Flash needs (like gamse that require Flash).
As far as being able to run Flash on an IPad? Had the same problem for my wife who wanted to do her Cafe World game on it (which requires Flash) and couldn't.
From what I can tell (as far as a month back when I checked) there is no way to get full Flash functionality on your IPad. The closest will probably if you Jailbreak the IPad OS. But even then when I checked the only version of Jailbreak (and it's many different derivatives) that enables Flash is still in beta (with a "try if you want but we aren't responsible for anything if something goes wrong tag" to it from the hackers...which they call Frash I believe).
Maybe they have finished beta and now have a fully tested Jailbreakable Flash option (sorry I'm not great with terms).
Androidman or Jitpal or one of the techie guys may be more knowledgeable on this matter.

Re: OT: I-Pad Help
Not to come off like a d*ck but if your that much into Flash, Adobe, etc then you should have not bought an Ipad. The Ipad's become pretty much my main computer at home. But that's because I pretty much only used my computer at home for entertainment purposes (mostly non Flash). I still have my desktop PC around when I need to do other things and my at work computer is a PC. Basically what I'm saying is that the Ipad has limitations but is great for a lot of things mainly entertainment purposes.

Re: OT: Anyway to get out of a lease?
For NYC, the following should help...
http://www.housingnyc.com/html/resource ... eases.html
I am sort of in the same situation. I just re-upped my lease for a year because I wanted to guarantee a roof over my head but I'm also looking at another place at the same time. The other place is bigger, new, and just straight up nicer. So I'm hoping to get the other place and get out of my current lease.

For flash content, your best bet is an actual computer. iOS won't support it anytime soon. Android support is mixed, it works in some conditions, doesn't in others. Totally depends on the content, environment and your phone's individual capabilities. Stick to computers. -Jitpal

You can talk to the landlord and make some deal, perhaps paying 3 months of rent to get out of the contract and losing a security deposit.
You can hire a lawyer and see if the landlord breached the contract, but that is pretty hard depending on what state you are in, every state has different landlord laws....
That's all I got.
Thanks
Option A - Seems like an interesting idea, but i'd really have to trust that person and probably need to crerate my own contract of some sort...no? Finding someone wouldn't be a problem. It's a nice place. o
Option B - I'd take a hit now, but it would pay off in the next year. May work
Option C - Wouldn't work, and wouldn't do. It's a cool place, no problems, Landlord's on time with fixing things etc. Rent's just too high, which was my choice and mistake.

Re: OT: I-Pad Help
Yikes, the horror of buying an ipad to find out you don't get the entire internet experience.
Flash is not hard to implement and the Android Os has proven flash can be functional on a mobile platform. Apple has always been lazy about supporting flash even though many websites have Flash elements that are not supported on iOS(iPad). Apple has a history of funneling its users into itunes site where they can maximize profits. They essentially only provide you with a portion of the entire internet experience.
Android tablets such as the upcoming Motorola Zoom tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab, and the LG Slate all have flash support out of the box. Google, with its Android OS, sees no reason tor restrict its users experience on the internet. They offer a complete solution.

Galaxy tab is pretty old by my standards. You should really focus on the moto zoom.
Here's a brief video showing off what the newest OS update to Android, named Honeycomb, can do. This updated OS version will be on the Zoom tablet.

And yes, it supports Flash and the entire internet experience.

"Full Internet Experience" what a load of crock. Flash support? Sure. It's hardly good though. Quotes from reviews of the Galaxy Tab, the only Android tablet out right now.

Engadget wrote:While it's nice to be able to load videos within sites and not have to battle that blue lego block, we were repeatedly given the "this video is not optimized for mobile" message when we hit play. Overall, videos played just fine, but Flash definitely slowed down the rest of the browsing experience. What about other Flash heavy sites? Well, as you can see above, Hulu is a dead end -- we got the same error message even when we logged into our Hulu plus account in the browser.(Hulu, please release a Plus app for Android ASAP!) On that same vein, we had no issues loading a Flash game site like Canabalt, but because it was built for mouse and keyboard environments we couldn't figure out how to jump and avoid death by bricks. What does it all mean? The Tab's Flash capability is a nice fallback, but if you've been thinking it's the killer tablet app you should think again. Not to sound like Steve Jobs or anything, but scaled-up smartphone apps and Flash compatibility alone don't create a well-rounded tablet platform -- it's going to take native apps for the Tab to be truly competitive.

Full web? Not a chance. Not all Google's fault. Not all Adobe's fault. Not all Apple's fault. Not all media company's fault. The web for mobile is very different from the web for computers. One day they might be the same, but that day is not today. -Jitpal

Well I realized the IPad's limitations before I got one. The biggest advantage of the Ipad is the user interface and the touch capabilities. As far as games, entertainment, etc. Where to begin? There are too many great free apps to even bother listing them. What I'm trying to get at is the Ipad is really not going to replace all your computing needs but it's still a pretty sick and nifty complimentary gadget. I'm getting by just fine between my old desktop and the Ipad.
