Re: Official Transaction Ideas thread
Luke and Artest for Rip Hamilton. I know Ron's history but they could always flip him and send him elsewhere. The contract's and money is very equal. The pistons get 2 roster players that will play. Ron in right situation would score 18 a game, in the post.
Rip in LA would be perfect fit. He hits the corner 3, .850 free throw line and good D, he gave Paul Pierce a run for his money in their playoff battles. A least we forget his 2 point jumper, coming off screen assaults vs. the Lakers in the finals.
I would also do Shannon for Will Bynum if the would do that but I doubt it.
Dream lineup would be :
Fish, WBynum
Kobe, Blake
Drew, Ratliff
Pau, Lamar, Character
Rip, Barnes, Ebanks

three way:
Blake and Walton to Tor
Calderon to PHX
Nash to LA
Phx gets younger pg w/ similar abilities
Tor gets a true back up to J Bayless plus Luke experience I guess
Nash gets to go to a contender.....Salaries are perfect all same length

Walton is untradable until the 2012-2013 season where he's an expiring. And without Ron Artest we don't win a championship this year, I know he's painful to watch but we need his lockdown defense if we're going to send Phil out with a ring. I think the Lakers should call our old Memphis buddies about a certain OJ Mayo. His stock is at an extremely low point with this steroid scandal, and his lackluster play so far this season, I believe he's now available at a new low price.

Could send them GS 2nd rd pick and a future 1st rounder. No way that is anywhere near enough.

What about Shannon GS & NY 2011 and CHI 2012 2nd rounders and two future firsts. Not entirely sure how to gauge OJs worth since I haven't watched many Grizz games this season, but seeing his benching, and reading the Grizz board and the way they talk about his play thus far, his worth can't be much more than that even if it is Shannon. Of course a package of Deng and picks from CHI would be much better for them.

They should def take a shot at Melo. Maybe a three way deal w/ Gasol ending up where ever.
Find a new home for Artest maybe str8 up for Posey.

Whether it seems like it or not our advantage over teams are the twin towers. When they dont play like pussies no one can beat us, I'd be reluctant just to give that up for Melo who through all of this trade talk has become somewhat overrated. I wouldn't be opposed to trading Artest but not for Posey. If we're able to somehow get Battier from Houston then I'd do it. What we really need is a PG who can create for himself, a scoring PG who can take pressure off of Kobe.

your trades are crazy unrealistic, they might be amazing for us, but they have to have some incentive for the other team.

I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say "trades" as the OJ trade I believe is my first proposed trade. As for the Artest trade, I just said that I wouldn't trade Artest unless I could get another defensive forward out of the deal. Getting Battier isnt unrealistic at all, I'm sure Houston isn't looking to keeping him after this season, but I'm sure you were talking about the OJ trade. Yeah it is a tad unrealistic, but you must take into account that OJs value isn't exactly high right now, which is why I'm wondering why Chicago just doesn't pull the trigger already. If we got a better player than Shannon and added those picks I think Mem would bite. But I guess I should just leave the trading to the trade machine experts because it's appearant I suck lol. And can Kingsforlife get suspended already?

Gasol, Artest, Blake, Walton to GSW
Brand, Iguodala, S. Curry, C. Bell to LAL
Biedrins, Gadzuric, Radmanovic, B. Wright, Lakers' TE, Caracter to PHI
GSW get bigman next to Lee, big PG next to Ellis and game changing sixth man in Artest.
LAL get backup big in Brand, an athletic/playmaking SF, and charismatic PG of the future.
PHI gets rebounding, shotblocking C, and save major, major dough to develop Turner, Holiday, Speights.

Re: Official Transaction Ideas thread
Hey all, Nets/Mavs fan here (I'm mostly a Trades and Transactions board guy, though). I came up with a trade idea that I think would be beneficial to all parties. Let me know what you think:
Knicks Help Melo to Lakers
We've known for a long time that Carmelo Anthony wants to win now, and prefers to go to either the New York or Los Angeles Area. It seemed that the Lakers were out of the question fresh off of their championship, but it seems that all is not well in LaLaLand. FA acquisitions haven't provided the desired impact, Bynum hasn't embraced a smaller offensive role, and Artest is looking more and more lost in Phil's offense. Kupchak came out yesterday and said that the Lakers "may have to look into a trade", because they are "not playing good basketball".
This whole situation seems picture-perfect for a blockbuster trade. Melo would get what he wants, a win-now team in the league's premier market, and he would ink his extension before the new CBA goes into effect. Kobe would get a gimme-the-d@mn-ball teammate to take 1-on-5 responsibilities of of his shoulders. I'm gauging other teams' reactions to this proposal as well, but I hop to hear from plenty of LAL fans. Oh, and if you don't mind, reply in the linked thread, so I don't have to check this one. Thanks.

I can see how that might help everyone, and it's creative, but it's also complicated as hell and as such, has a low likelihood of happening.
Another idea for my Laker fans... It's kinda out-there and probably just as far-fetched...
But what about working with Phoenix...
Nash+Lopez (filler?)
4
Bynum+(Picks? and take your pick? Cash?)
Nash and Lopez for Bynum straight up works in trade checker but I think there's probably some filler that needs to go both ways. I'd think anyone not named Kobe, Odom or Gasol and maybe Barnes could go too without much heartache.
I know Phoenix probably doesn't want to deal with us and Nash may not be the ideal Triangle Point but he's still pretty damn good, and I think he'd really like to have a ring before he calls it quits. In fact I could see him hanging it up right after the championship. Both he and Phil get to go out on top.
Lopez I think would work nicely with Gasol and make the loss of Bynum hurt a little less.
It really all comes down to how bad Pho wants to rebuild and how much Nash wants to win now.

Re: Official Transaction Ideas thread
Honestly, i dont see anything with Kobe, Bynum, Odom, Gasol... we're not going to risk or championship run for something that could be. Kobe is getting too old for us to "try". something smaller would be done. YES, we would like to pick up Melo if we could, but i would love to have Melo on the team. However, given that Denver already turn down NJ and NY (what would be one of the best trades they could get) it is highly unlikely we would get him. Although Artest is not playing the right ball play. I am very very iffy on trading him. Even though we have Barnes, he is pesky defender but not really a lock down strong defender as Artest.
If Kobe was younger, i would not mind him defending the toughest guy. But, he is not, it is hard to think having Kobe defend the best perimeter guy PLUS worry about passing and scoring at his age. We also have to think about teams like the Heat. I would not mind putting Barnes and Kobe on Wade. But Lebron is too big, too strong. We need someone to match him on size for a 7 game series. One game? sure.. 7 games? no we need him. The only other way is to get back someone else that we would not be able to Eg: Melo etc. ( someone we know that can handle SF if playing Lebron or Pierce. Im not worried about Pierce... Lebron definitely, he is the only one big enough at the SF to fully take over)
Honestly right now, what we need it to just get past this year for now. Meaning, we need to find a way to win at least this year for now until the summer where new coaching will be in place, we can make changes then, I'm not saying big changes, but some changes. But for not we can do minor changes. I think the probably and reason why FO has not mention a trade as of late is because they do not want to break up a large part of the team PLUS not wanting to spend too much money since we have been paying soo much the past decade. However, i think they are planning something. A possibility of hooking up with our old trading friend.
1st possibility ( what i would hope)
Griz: OJ + Gasol + TPE + filler
LA: Bynum + Ebanks + Caracter + picks from our last trade + Cash consideration.
LA: Yes, i said no Bynum BUT if we get another big man back, FO would do it. we lose our future in Ebanks and Caracter but get someone back that can learn from Kobe and possibly have a good line up. he would have to try to learn the triangle and also start passing because he will be our PG (spot up shooter) not only that we would have the Gasol brothers. Hopefully one can motivate the other to do better. Big brother setting an example, Little brother out doing older makes older try harder, whatever.
C: Marc/Pau
PF: Pau/Odom
SF: Artest/ Barnes
SG: Kobe/ Brown
PG: OJ/ Fisher/ Blake
Griz: YES, they love Marc BUT he has not been playing as well as he should be and due a large pay. Not only that.. Randolph has been play very very well. Knowing Griz they might want Randolph more, put Bynum in there and you got a good C/PF set up. Caracter and Ebanks become they very very cheap prospect. something they would like. They get cash pay for Bynum, more picks to build on.
2nd possible trade
Griz: OJ
LA: TPE (from Sasha) + Picks + Cash + Ebanks
LA : We get another our possible future (Kobe learner).
Griz: Save money on someone they're not too high on, make money to pay for Marc and chance to keep Randolph too, again add a very very cheap Rudy Gay sub.

Re: Official Transaction Ideas thread
Some interesting trades thus far. Why would the Knicks help us get the player they're trying to get? If Melo ends up in LA no way he doesn't an extension. And tbh I just don't see a need for him here. The Mayo trade seems like a trade that if one were to go down that would be the one. Highly doubt getting Marc would be likely, we'd be lucky to just get Mayo with the little resources we have. I'd love it if we could get Love somehow while keeping Pau, but that's not likely either. Idk what Mitch is going to do, because it doesn't look as if we have the resources to pull a trade that will make much of an impact. He's going to have to work some magic that's for sure. Hopefully whatever happens it won't affect our ability of getting Dwight. If we even had any.
