Will Nash make the All-star team?

Post#1 » by Anubis88 » Tue Feb 1, 2011 3:12 pm

What do you guys think? I think it will be tough this year, probably a duel between him and Westbrook, who has a great season as well, but has 1 major plus; Oklahoma keeps winning

Don't know if he will but he should. For sure he'll be in the pointguard skillls challenge and most likely win it again. Would love to see him in the 3point contest. Anyone remember this?

By right he should make it because the last time I checked he had the third highest votes among guards. Only CP3 and Ginobili had more votes than him but with all those people who say they're NBA analyst like Brett Barry, Dennis Scott, Barkley,C-Webb, Kenny Smith(DUMB), E.J, Van Gundy, Mark Jackson etc. Nash doesn't stand a chance because they're pushing for guys like Westbrook and D-Will . With Popovich coaching the West you know he's bringing Tony Parker with him.As i said before by right he should make it but with all those people in the media its going to be tough for Nash. These fools are even pushing for Gasol to make the All-Star team and he has been LA worst playing this year to the point they're looking to make a trade come deadline. BTW the Lakers said he has been the worst player on the team because of his lack of defense. Skip Bayless was right when he said his name is Pau Gasoft

He's not even in the Skills Challenge, it's a damn shame. Only hope he's the 3pt contest

I'm assuming Nash decided to sit this one out regarding the Skills Challenge. He won it last year so there's no way they wouldn't have taken him back; it had to be a personal decision.

On topic, he probably won't make the All-Star team, and it's a crying shame. Most likely it's because of the team's sub-par play this year (even though Steve is having a great year).

I believe that many guys like Steve regard the whole thing as a pain in the ass and are happy to just take the day's off, though Steve will most likely do a bunch of networking for his other interests.

If he's not in the ASG it would be a travesty, but not really since no one really cares about the ASG anyway.

I see these people ahead of him:

Kobe, Paul, Manu, Westbrook, Williams...

he probably won't make it.

If it was me, I'd put him in and sacrifice a PF/C spot (the west has no All Star C's anyways).

Paul / Williams /Nash
Kobe / Manu / Westbrook
Durant / Anthony
Nowitzki / Griffin
Pau / Duncan

He wanted to give other people a freaking chance. I may have missed one or two but as I recall he pretty much wiped the floor with everyone and still holds the record.

Someone who gives a !%*@ about the All-Star Weekend may need to correct me, though, 'cos I generally don't.

Deron Williams holds the record. But he did wipe the floor with everyone last year. There was like a 5 second difference or something like that

I really don't understand the All Star votes because Nash has the 4th highest votes among guards only cp3, kobe and manu are ahead of him so obviously Nash should make the team because he has way more votes than Westbrook and D-Will.

I thought the votes were just for the starting 5. Then the coaches choose the rest of the players. But I could be mistaken
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

No you're right. And that's why Nash probably won't make it.

Dirk will probably not play as he may want to rest that injury.

Still loaded on the guards spot though.

OK. Then if Blake Griffin makes the All-Star team then it's only fear Nash makes it too right ? Suns have a better record than the Clippers

He probably won't, and it'll big one of the biggest snubs in the history of the game.

There are a bunch of great PGs whose teams are playing well and have winning records - that's the ASG criteria, right?

Pop might pick him but after he adds parker, he may not have room

If KLove or BGriff don't make All-star because of their team record then I don't think Nash will either.

Two good things that might come of Nash missing the ASG. First, he gets some rest for the stretch run. Second, a Nash snub by the western conference coaches could give the rest of the Suns team a chip on their shoulder.

Steve Nash will make the team.
