Superb Owl Party Menu

Post#1 » by midranger » Tue Feb 1, 2011 3:27 pm

What you got?

I'm in Michigan, so I'll try to enhance the Sconnie-awareness through brats, High Life, and brandy Old Fashions.

But that will fail here, plus we're having atleast 5 vegetarians, so....

Hummus with pita, carrots, and celery sticks
Chips with salsa and homemade guacamole
Cucumber/creamcheese sandwiches
Buffalo wing (anyone have a good recipe for a baked version?)
Easiest/tastiest minestrone soup ever (seriously)

Heat + olive oil + garlic, carrots, celery, onion (sweat)
Add 1 pint of chicken stock and 1 big can of stewed tomatoes, and a chopped zucchini
Add chopped basil, 2 cans of beans (I use red kidney and garbanzo), and a cup of orzo

Takes about 20 minutes total and it's awesome.

I'll probably order a piza or two to cover the rest.

Almost forgot, desert is easiest/healthiest chocolate muffins ever (seriously)

1 box chocolate cake mix (we use Devil's food)
1 can pumpkin (not the pie mix)
1 cup water
1/3 bag chocolate chips (optional)
Bake at 350

They have a little pumpkin taste, but mainly just taste like chocolate, and actually count as a veggie on weight watchers points (or so I'm told).

Good thread. I've been thinking about this since the end of the NFC championship.

I have two heart-attack dips I need to make, if only for good luck/superstition. But after that it's wide open.

I initially want to go high class and have an awesome dinner. Steak and lobster at half-time, maybe. But I'm not gonna want to miss a moment of the game and that kills the idea.

****. I have no idea what I'll be making.

Every week during the season we switch it up but since the Giants game we've kept it the same and aren't going to change it now. A variety of BW3 wings (including BLAZIN', love it hot), and assorted other snacks, Washed down with various Sprecher soda (Root Beer, Cherry Cola, Cream, Orange Dream). I don't drink booze during Packer games.

I can't wait. ESPN pregame starts at 9, Fox pregame starts at 1 and I think Fox 6 is having something in there as well before 1:00, so we'll have a nice 8 1/2 hour total pregame blitz until kickoff.' Usually for the SB I tune in right before it starts. But Sunday I will be tuned in all day long.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Ribs, chili cheese deep, little smokies drenched in barbecue sauce, maybe cheesy mashed potatoes, and I still have to figure out the desert.

Uh huh. I usually have between 6-9 people at my places during games, and each week everyone brings a bottle of liquor. Lots of boozing going on.

I actually had a drink down in Mexico I had never had before, and I was pretty much hooked: an Iceberg. Maybe some have had it, but it is Corona with regular flavor margarita mix (blended) on top (yes, pretty girly I know). Best served in a beer glass. It was incredible. Better for hot weather, but still.

I drank so many during the Packer/Bear game that I didn't even make it to dinner, destroyed some quesadillas in my room at halftime of Steelers/Jets and then passed out.

Decided to sit back and actually enjoy the game this time around so we are having BW3s cater. Wings (Honey BBQ, Medium, Spicy Garlic & Asian Zing), Buffalo Chips and Potato Skins. Oh, and a ton of booze.
