What about Paul millsap

Post#1 » by Xthren » Tue Feb 1, 2011 3:25 am

Jazz fan here, just thought I would get that out front. I am a big granger fan and think he would thrive in utah with deron wlliams. I know that Indiana needs a pf and I at one time dreamed of millsap and hansbrough playing in Utah. I was wondering if a deal that inluded millsap for granger would be possibility. Jazz don't have a 2 guard who can great their own shot but what do you think it would take other then dwell.

not a chance. our new coach will let McRoberts and Hansbrough sink or swim at the 4. if they don't do well enough to make us secure at the spot going into next year, we'll have plenty of cap room to make a run at free agents next summer without giving up a thing.

not a chance granger gets traded for millsap...unless it is granger and collison for millsap and dwill..and thats not gonna happen...but no way pacers trade an all star and someone who we regard higher than the rest of the league seems to..for an avg starting pf...especially when we have two young pf's in hans and mcbob, and plenty of cap room to bring in someone better than millsap and the pf's we have now...just not gonna happen...granger isnt going to get traded unless it is a trade that is too good to be true from our perspective..and once again, prolly not gonna happen...we will gladly keep granger, and make a trade for or sign a pf to pair with granger...david west puh-puh-puh-please

Nah, our young guys seem to have a pretty good chemistry and once other guys grow and mature as players (namely Paul George) who can do a little more, Danny can thrive as an automatic offense kind of guy. Although the power forward will likely be one of the first upgrades we do this off-season, the PF is not nearly the concern it once was thanks to Tyler. So personally, I'd rather take our chances via trade or free agency to lock up another big.

I don't know what Millsap's salary is off-hand, but I do know it's noticeably cheaper than Danny, so keep in mind that Utah would have to send an awful lot back. Not only for getting Granger, but purely to make the salaries match due to the CBA rules.

Utah doesn't have enough incentive to add to Paul. I know he is signed to a good deal, but the downgrade to Hansbrough is not great enough to warrant moving our best player to offset the difference.

Bad trading partners all the way around, unless you want to talk expirings for AK, we could find a third team to alleviate some of your salary this season.

I like Millsap an awful lot. He'd be near perfect next to Hibbert.

I just don't see what Utah would willingly add to Millsap to convince me to give up Granger. I'm not a big fan of Gordon Hayward as the filler, and he's about the only incentive they have there in Utah to offer up.

There's nothing Utah can give outside of D Will to make me take Milsap in any package for Granger.

I must be the only one would consider the deal for the Pacers. I think Millsap is pretty good.

My thinking here is that with the PF position solved (Millsap/Hansbrough/McBob), Pacers can instead use the expiring contracts/cap space to get a good swingman to replace Granger. There aren't that many free agent PFs worth looking at, and we'd face stiff competition in signing them. On the other hand, there are good young swingmen who could be changing teams (like Jeff Green or Wilson Chandler) depending on what their teams do in free agency. Plus guys like Iguodala and Deng could be available in the trade market.

Anyway, these deals could work:

Granger for Millsap and CJ Miles

or

Granger and Dunleavy for Millsap and AK

I think Milsap is good, just not good enough to make me wanna give Granger for him. Anyone but him, DC, PG, Roy, and maybe Tyler, I'm ok w/.

Millsap and al Jefferson don't compliment each other very well. I think Hibbert and millsap would do well. I know millsap is not a straight trade for granger and I am not convinced Indy would want ak. ( although he could be signed cheap next season )

I guess I was wondering fans view of millsap. Oh by the way nice steal of collison.

As farvas Hayward goes he is going to be a good player in this league. All he needs is a consistent outside shot and he will be a complimentary player a
On any team

Cj miles is the tough one. Great contract a pure scorer he is our life blood off the bench but a millsap miles trade for granger and say mcroberts would be an interesting trade for both teams.

Then we could us ak to trade to the clippers for Chris kaman 8-)
