I noticed that too, but if you had Lebron and Wade you could run almost anything.

Personally, I am surprised they are not running the triangle. Use Bosh as the mid/high passer with Wade/Lebron as the Pip/Jordan.

Neither Wade nor LeBron have much of a post game, though. Anytime LBJ goes to the post I want to cry. He tosses up some of the most disgusting shots in that position. His game is pretty much straight bulldozer mode.

Sounds good when receiving on the pinch-post.

Oh definitely, but who works the low post for them? That's not Wade's game, and not really Big Z's either. Traditional triangle, the pinch post comes from after establishing a strong side with an entry pass to the wing, then a ball side cut to the corner. Ball is either dumped into the low post, or kicked to the corner, if that's not there, the pinch post comes fom the reversal of the ball off the flash to the high post. If there's no legit low post threat, there's no reason to honor it. This means the flash to the high post, and the backdoor cut isn't as open.

Miami runs a lot of their sets with LeBron, Wade, or Miller as their primary ball handler, mostly Wade/LBJ obviously. Neither are meant to be stuck in the corner waiting for reversal./ If either of those two had a post game, then they'd be wise have Miller initiate the offense to Big Z on the win, then cut to the corner, forming a triangle with Wade in the post, and Miller/Z. If Wade/Miller isn't able to get a good look, then reverse it to Bosh in the pinch for a backdoor cut to James. But that's only an initial aspect of the offense.

I never noticed Lebron's lack of post game. Shame for someone of his skillset.

He's been ribbed for it his entire career. He went to the low post a couple times on Sunday and I wanted to cry seeing how disgusting and uncoordinated he looked down there. As big and strong as he is, he would be even more unstoppable if he could add that.

It's one of the many reasons I prefer Kobe over LBJ. James isn't a student of the game. He really hasn't improved his skillset since he entered the league. He's gotten bigger and faster, sure, which means he's a better player, but actual basketball fundamentals, he's the same guy he was 7 years ago.

Right about now is when Kobe and Michael really started to improve their fundamentals and stop relying solely on athletic ability. That's what made them great. Let's see if LeBron does it.

When we grabbed Rubio I really hoped we would go another direction, but Flynn shocked me then and now. I know Kahn loved him, but he was not the talent fit, or the position fit.

2010 is too early.

Hmmm, I thought the wolves thought Flynn was the best position fit. I think almost everyone realized that Rubio wouldn't be coming for two years for contractional reasons, and I think they felt Flynn was the best point guard available, definitely a position of need at the time. This logic made the choice reasonable to me at the time, though even if you accept it clearly in hindsight Flynn wasn't the best point guard available. Knowing what we know now, I'm still not sure who I'd choose over Flynn, Holiday or Curry. Haven't seen them enough to make a choice I could defend, even to myself.
