For a backup power forward (and realistically that's all he is) I think Paul Millsap is compensated fairly. I'm not looking to trade him, but I think he's one of the few tradable assets the Jazz have.

lol, so far the only person that no one wants traded is earl. Honestly, though, I wouldn't mind if any of the above get traded, except dwill.

any interest on ben gordon ?

Honestly, I've always been a big Ben Gordon fan. Not sure how he would play out in Utah with a legitimate PG handling the ball most of the time, but if the Jazz are gonna make moves, I'd be tempted for sure.

Millsap+CJ+AK for Ben Gordon+Villanueva+Prince. Gordon is a definite improvement over CJ, but CV and Prince are both downgrades from Millsap and AK. CV does give us the height to move Big Al back to PF, and Prince comes off the books this summer.

The only way I see Detroit doing this is if they are indeed contemplating a firesale. In the same respect, the only way I see the Jazz doing this is if Detroit throws in Daye, Jerebko, or a pick. Taking on both Ben and CV's contracts, when neither of them have lived up to the money, is risky. Then again, Detroit could be paying their players in carrot shavings, and they still wouldn't be living up to their contracts. This is about the best value I see the Jazz getting out of Millsap(other than keeping him of course)... so again, might just be best to stand pat. See this thing through.

There is no way Villanueva ends up on this team. Dude's a cancer. Or he has cancer. I swear I heard that somewhere.

I'd love to have Ben Gordon on this team. He's sort of what I wish CJ would be: a guy with a scorer's mentality, but who isn't completely devoid of common sense. He gives us a legitimate three-point threat at the 2. KOC/we wouldn't want any of Detroit's other garbage, though, so I don't really see anything coming of it.

Sorry, but I see Sap as more of just a backup PF. He may not be an all-star starting PF, but where are you going to find anything near his production at his price? He is also one of the few guys on this team that can literally take a game over, and when Deron and he get their 2 man game going strong, they are near unstoppable. You guys are too quick to write him off because of his declining numbers, but I think this has as much to do with Jefferson using his space as anything else. He never knows when to go in for a rebound when Al has the ball because you never know when he is going to shoot it. Al never passes to cutters. It's really not fair to say Millsap is just a backup PF when he has to deal with that.

I don't think it's fair to say Millsap isn't a starting caliber PF. He can be, I think. All Star? Maybe not. Certainly not the year-after-year variety. I don't want to trade him, but do agree that he's our most tradeable asset if we want something of value in return.

Yeah- hes definitely starting material. Teams arent out there starting 5 superstars. Well, not yet anyways...

Wait til Deron joins Paul, Amare, and Melo in NY to run the 2... then they only need uno mas.

You're right, it completely depends on what we get in return. But, considering our salary issues, the likelihood of getting someone in return that will have similar impact on the teams salary situation, is extremely unlikely.

IMO, coming from someone who doesn't live in Utah but is a general fan of the league, is that you guys have a lot of great pieces to build upon.

All that is really needed is a competent SG, because at the moment, Bell is what is screwing this team over with his inconsistent shot, or lack thereof. Deron needs a player that can drain shots, either in transition or in the half court. It's as simple as that.

It seems to me that Millsap and Jefferson are both underrated on this board. They are very good players. Yes, they have their deficiencies, but who doesn't - they aren't superstars.

AK47 in a contract year has done a phenomenal job, especially with DWill out, he has shown glimpses of the old AK.

All in all, a 2 guard is what this team needs. Wesley Matthews would have been just that guy. He is what this team is sourly missing.

The thing about Millsap and Jefferson is that some of their deficencies are the same- namely rebounding. You can have a guy with deficencies if you have another guy that covers his and vice versa. You can't start your two biggest positions with 2 guys that can't rebound. Its suicide. They don't fit. One either has to go or go to the bench. The problem with that is that they are both starting caliber- just not together- and we don't have any better options sitting on the bench.

I would do just about anything to get Iggy or Granger on this team. Either one would fix our guard rotation immediately and they would hep with rebounding and transition play as well.

I would like to see the Jazz make a run at one of the quality bigs next season in FA. I believe Horford and Prizzy are still letting their contracts expire? Horford would be an awesome fit for this team but I'm not sure if he would be interested in coming here or if we would have the money to throw at him.

Horford signed an extension, as best I recall.

I picked Okur, Bell and Miles to be traded just because I don't want to see AK47 or Millsap another uniform.
