With Felipe Lopez signing a minor league deal with Cincy, all comp-level free agents are now spoken for. Our picks, courtesy of River Ave Blues, are as follows:

#21 (our first rounder)
#35 (for Scott Downs)
#46 (for John Buck)
#53 (for Miguel Olivo)
#57 (for Kevin Gregg)
#74 (for Scott Downs)
#78 (our second rounder)
#108 (our third rounder)
#139 (our fourth rounder)
every 30 picks beyond.

It speaks volumes about the way teams are using the comp system that there will be sixty 'first round' picks this year...only 2007 (another year where we were loaded with picks) saw more.

that's huge, we picked up 5 more picks before our own 2nd one. the Olivo move paid off too, amazing

Looking good, for a team that has not had a high draft pick in recent memory we are in fantastic shape. Considering Francisco, Frasor, Dotel AND Rauch could potentially net us more comp picks next year or some good young players at the trade deadline it may be just a matter of time until we are right behind Kansas City for the best farm system in baseball. Only difference is that we will be able to afford to keep our young talent (cough, cough... Rogers don't prove otherwise).
