From my sources, I have been told Thorn is actively seeking a trade with LA at this moment. The trade should look something like this-

La Trades: Ron Artest, Andrew Bynum, Derek Fisher, and Theo Ratliff
La Receives: Andre Iguodala, Elton Brand, and Lou Williams

Phi Trades: Andre Iguodala, Elton Brand, and Lou Williams
Phi Receives: Ron Artest, Andrew Bynum, Derek Fisher, and Theo Ratliff

There is no link as I have inside sources.

Iggy/Brand/Lou? That's like 70% of the scoring for the Sixers.

I like Bynum but man, that guy is more brittle than Kerry Kittles.

Fake. No way Philly would take Artest.

Even if this were real, why would the Sixers do it?

I understand the whole cost cutting measure, but why take on Artest and Fisher's contracts just to get Bynum, who I'm not sure is worth the hype? And in the process you give up 2 starters and key vets to the team.

Just doesn't make sense.

Artest has an awful conract, and the Sixers lose their core character guys...can't see that happening.

Plus the deal doesn't work on the trade checker...

It would make sense that Artest wants out of LA, and Collins + Thorn are now talking about playing Iggy more as a point forward.

Point forwards are crucial in the triangle. Unfortunately I could see a Artest - Bynum for Iguodala - Hawes type deal in the near future.

As much as i hate iggys half court offense and would still like to trade him for a bigman and cap relief I must agree with gcobb on this

I gotta give credit where credit is due

Give credit where its due and give DESERVED respect to a "good player"? For real?

You do that to a much more deserved player. Like a Brian Westbrook. Or Barkley after Doc retired. Or a Randall Cunningham when he lit the NFL up on his lonely.

But to Andre Iguodala? A fringe star that will never sniff making an All Star team? Even Hersey Hawkins made an All Star team. When it was a better league and the East was legit.

Nah. Iguodala is a good player, but nah. Not going for it.

Are you serious? That makes no sense whatsoever. What did the article say that wasn't true? He's getting the respect he deserves, exactly. Nothing extra. That should apply to anyone, from Keith Bogans to Kobe Bryant. If they play well, you admit it. Or are you just not allowed to say anything positive about anyone unless they're an all-star? Wow, this is one of the most ridiculous things I've read on here in a while...

Don't like the Laker deal as constructed. Artest = head case and Bynum = always injured. Why would we trade our two best players for that? Now if you replace Artest with Odom then you would have to think about it. Odom can play the point forward (actually he could play the 4 as well) and would bring some height to the front court.

The article makes Iguodala like he's some martyr or something. Like nobody is genuflecting at the altar of a player that is nothing special and won't do anything special.

He is what he is and people realize that. What else should people do?

It seems like you took issue with the opening:

Is it time that people stop criticizing Andre Iguodala and start giving him the respect that he deserves?

What's wrong with that? No one said anything about giving him more respect than he deserves. Why bring up other players? What do they have to do with anything? Yeah, Barkley and Westbrook were better players. So they got more respect. They got more credit.

He is what he is and people realize that. What else should people do?

Start giving him the respect that he deserves. That's all. Just because he's not a star doesn't mean you should give him less than he deserves.

He's just a good player. Good players are only going to get but so much praise. So it sounds like to me that you want him to get star praise, which isn't happening. That's like Cleveland fans giving Mo Williams star praise, which also isn't happening...and he's been to an All Star game!
