It does suck that someone is going to get snubbed. Love, Z-Bo, Aldridge, Ellis, Nash & Gay are all deserving of consideration imo. Brand had to deal with that for years (team record didn't help), and the competition was tougher then.

So Blake's not gonna play in the rookies vs sophomores? I actually don't see why he couldn't play in very limited minutes.

Blazers guard Andre Miller blasts All-Star selections: "It's all publicity and hype ... The league don't appreciate the blue-collar workers"

Andre Miller on Blake Griffin's selection: "I'm not a hater. But he hasn't made anyone better. They are giving young guys too much respect'

Aldridge on All-Star selections: "You have to put Blake Griffin in. He plays in LA and people want to see him play.''

Jason Quick via Twitter

I don't like to call people names, but Andre Miller is seriously an A**hole. If he doesn't think Blake has put in a lot of work then he's sorely mistaken. If you ask anyone that has been around him, they will tell you that he's one of the hardest workers that you will ever see. They have to tell him to calm down, it's only practice. He doesn't make anybody better? He's had a great influence on DJ and even got Baron to give a damn. After a 5-21 start, Blake along with Eric call a players only meeting and the team wins 14 of their next 22 games. I know that Miller wants to see his teammate get in, but to put someone else down with an argument that doesn't hold water is the pure signs of a hater.

Aldgridge was definitely respectable in his answers, regardless of how he may feel about being left off.

I hope he pulls out of the rookie game. Most players use All-Star Weekend to rest. He'd be participating in the biggest event each night. It would be better imo if they gave his rookie spot to another player while he did the dunk contest and the ASG.

Man, SHUT UP punk ass Andre Miller and Aldridge. Miller is just pissed that Blake got him suspended, and ended his consecutive game streak.

LaMarcus Aldridge has a team in the Portland TrailBlazers that is just better (even with injuries) top to bottom than the Clippers minus Blake (we are riddled with injuries, and many of our contributors are rookies), so these guys need to just shut their mouths when comparing team success.

Congrats to BG! But that is some serious disrespect from Andre Miller. There's no way anybody on the Clippers would have said something like that if LA got selected instead. No class.

WOW, not one thread for Blake making the ASG

Post#27 » by Buck_Foston_ » Fri Feb 4, 2011 4:55 am

Were you guys that confident he was going to make it or did you just not get around to creating a thread?

I was going to come on here and congratulate you guys in that thread but there wasn't one that I can find.

Sure his numbers are there but he's still a young buck and you know how it usually goes young bucks, they get the shaft. Good to see he was rewarded.

I haven't seen him play that much, but everytime I do he impresses me more than the last time.

Phil gave a shot to Baron as he deserves, saying Blake makes the players around him better and makes guys like Baron Davis play hard.

Baron pisses me off, easily could have been the best PG the game for a number of years, but he didn't have the desire to work as hard as he could and loves food to much. Only PG in the league that plays with a boiler. At least he finally is trying again, but he doesn't deserve any praise for the many years he didn't give a crap.

There's an allstar thread already. Not one specifically for Blake making the roster, but it's discussed in there as well.

Hey guys,

Who are we most excited to see Blake play with? I'm still hoping that Love makes it, so we can possibly see both of them on the court at the same time, but would love to see him working with Derron Williams and CP3. I can't imagine what kinds of passes/lobs he'll get when they're coming from the premier point guards in the league. Also, being on an all-star team, he will not be able to be double-teamed, so people will truly see how good he is.

Blake Griffin Officially an NBA All-Star

The NBA's presumptive rookie of the year, Clippers forward Blake Griffin was selected to the Western Conference All-Star team on Thursday in a vote by the league's head coaches.

Griffin is the first rookie to gain All-Star honors since Yao Ming made the team in 2003. He's only the 10th Clipper in franchise history and the fourth since 1993 to make the team. Center Chris Kaman was selected as a reserve last year.

Griffin is having one of the most dominant rookie seasons in NBA history, averaging 23 points and 13 rebounds while shooting over 50 percent from the field. Not only is he smashing rookie records, he's also tops in the NBA in certain categories. Griffin is the only player in the league to average at least 20 points, 12 rebounds and over three assists per game. He has 40 double-doubles on the year, good enough for second in the league behind Timberwolves forward Kevin Love (who was left off of the All-Star team).

"I'm really proud to be fortunate enough to have been chosen to the Western Conference All-Star team," Griffin said in a statement released by the Clippers. "I do want to say, much love to my teammates, I share this honor with them. Thanks to the Western Conference coaches for giving me this opportunity. Most of all, thank you Clipper Nation for all of your support."

Julie Jessup, NBC Los Angeles

Here's a nice article on Griffin being named an all-star, written by our very own Ms. JJ for NBC. :D

I'm going to have to say D-Will and Paul also. I think he already has a great passer in Baron to play with on a regular basis, but it will be nice to see him with the 2 best that the game has to offer (imo).
