Team record matters. This is testament that it does.

IIRC, ESPN had an article on their website the other day about this. Can't remember if I mentioned it on here but someone (a contributor, not fan) was arguing that Lamar Odom belonged in the All-Star game before Kevin Love because the Lakers are better than the Wolves.

Makes no sense. Love should be in there.

I did hear that, good thinking seeing you already have 3 pg's on that team

Duncan over Love is really awful, though not exactly surprising. The Spurs are on the top of the league and so everyone seems to assume 1 all-star is insufficient.

Honestly, not sure if Stern will appoint Nash, since they already have 3 PGs on the roster, but maybe hey surprises us all.

Ray Allen, to me, stands out as a weak all-star. He's having a good season, but jeez, he's the 4th best player on his team. I'd much rather see Boozer or Noah, or if they've missed too many games, Josh Smith.

Ray Allen is having a great season. Better than Boozer for sure.

The West has too many PF's. Duncan, Nowitzki, Pau, and none of those three were even the starter.

I don't see how Allen's season is "for sure" better than Boozer's. Allen takes open 3s as the third option on his team, and usually makes them. That's obviously helpful, but Boozer shoulders one of the heaviest offensive loads in the NBA (higher, for instance, than Dirk's); the only guys in the East who are as efficient as he is with that kind of burden are LeBron, Wade, and Howard. Unlike Allen, he contributes outside of scoring as well, as the 3rd best rebounder in the East so far (I'd rather have 20-10-2 than 17-3.5-3).

There's no doubt in my mind that Boozer is more important to the Bulls than Allen is to the Celtics. I can understand excluding him on the basis of missing games, but Allen's a pretty weak all-star.

I disagree. Love doesn't deserve it. His team won 11games (!!!) so far in this season. Zach Randolph also averaged 20/12 in the past seasons and only made the allstar team once so far, namely last year.

IMO LMA should have been picked

Love is doing things that haven't been done for 3 decades. He's averaging 16 boards a game. 16 boards a game for someone like Dwight Howard is impressive, but for a round, unathletic white dude? Add in the 21ppg and the kid has been knocking it out of the park.

His team won 11games (!!!) so far in this season.

No, the team he plays on has won 11 games. That's not through any lack of effort by Love. Maybe if Kahn had half an idea of how to put a team together they would have won more.

Again, team records are what the playoffs are for. All Star selection is about the ability of individual players - something that is very separate to the team they are on.
