There hasn't been much of that lately. Oddly enough, though, the game last night gave me a lot of hope. Our guys competed in a way we've not seen in a while. I'm hoping it starts a trend.

The last three games, to me at least, has looked like a team that is on the cusp of finding their identity - and I think a lot of it lies with Hayward and Evans.

I think we all had high expectations of this team and it came out and possibly overacheived with a nice stretch of wins. The fact of the matter is this team is still trying to find a identity and establish roles, and it isn't happening so we have a discombobulated mess that is hard to watch.

We lost 4 key players with established roles and team dynamics. We just need to find it again. I've been really impressed with Al the last couple of games... maybe it is due to Deron being out and he has shouldered more of the responsibility and it has improved his game. Watson has been playing like a stud as well as AK. Maybe Deron sitting is a blessing in disguise as it forces other players to step up.

It is funny that last night's loss was one of the best games to watch though. We had lowered expectations and guys came out and played some solid ball on both ends. I'm hoping that when Deron returns this team starts to click.

This is the kind of turmoil I expected at the beginning of the year, but we started off very hot, so this seems like a big let down.

We'll right the ship, Sloan and KOC always do.

I guess I don't have a life because I watch my favorite team play. What a stupid thing to say.

Actually I think that thinking out of the box was what got them in trouble.

1. Not resigning Boozer, and picking up Al Jefferson for nothing was a pretty bold move.
2. Not resigning Wes Mathews took a lot of guts, and they struggled with that decision right down until the day before they could match. So I geuss they deserve credit for at least sticking to their guns.
3. Dropping all Jazz games from KJZZ and potentially alienating a lot of cheap fans like myself who attend only 4-5 games per year was kind of a shocker.

I don't think that Greg Miller is being shy about grabbing the wheel and steering the ship, the only question is does he have enough experience to be ready to make those type of command decisions.

Just a move like keeping Mathews, and the Jazz would be in a whole different situation.

My concern is that Miller doesn't make decisions with his mind, like others might.

You know this last game was pretty entertaining, even though we lost. Jazz seemed to have a little life back in them. Couldn't shoot, but, the life was there.

I think it might be about pace. Are the Jazz just playing slower pace this year? Is that why the feel so booring?

Easy question, easy answer- I'm a fan of the Utah Jazz. It's not a matter of "efficiency"; it's not an "utilitarism". It's a passion thing you know, nothing to do with "results". It's quite obvious really...

A fan asking himself why he's watching? That's rare....

^Well its been truly a sacrifice to watch the Jazz the last year, as my work keeps me late in the office and I have MBA classes two nights per week, on top of group work, homework, and everything else. But I never minded sacrificing the sleep or whatever else to watch the Jazz because they were so damned exciting. Remember when Durant and Williams had that shootout last year, and we won after a controversial no call on CJ Miles last year? Man...that stuff is worth not sleeping and being a zombie the next day at work.

But the last 7 games have truly not been worth the sacrifice of my precious time. Truthfully, if I weren't in school, I'd probably still watch every game even if our record was 8-42. I just can't justify prioritizing this Jazz team right now.

Thanks for all your responses. They have reminded me why I still feel invested in this organization. I just hope next year we get it together and Deron will stay.

 :rofl2:

It'd be nice if for one time this "righted ship" Pulled all the way into the dock instead of dropping us off 500 yards from shore and making us swim.

To be fair, he only said they'd "right the ship," which seems to suggest they'll keep it from sinking. Whether it ever gets to its destination or not is another matter.

I lost four years of following the team when I was working on just a bachelor's degree. Of course I had at least two jobs and sometimes three during that time as well. There was just no way. Props for having any kind of following.

Those weren't bold moves- they were money driven. Thats as inside the box as it gets.
