He was representing K Love a lot. I guess offensive rebounding beasts stick up for each other.

I have to agree though. I know stats can be a little inflated on bad teams but really, I don't like that argument. If you can drop 20+ and grab 10+ boards, unless you are shooting at some ungodly clip, you can play ball. People always said the same thing about Zach Randolph "Empty stats! Bad Team!" No, Zach Randolph is just a freaking baller. If most of these guys stats were only because they were on bad teams, then a lot more players would be able to do what they can do. No one had done what Love is doing in decades, that's a sign of greatness not dumb luck that can be attributed to circumstance.

i think he's still got a good shot, yao has to be replaced and i think it will be between love and alridge, i said a while ago that i thought aldridge might just deserve it more than love...i'm not sure i have changed my mind, but i want love there for the wolves and he is ridiculously deserving.

Love how Love's name was in green.
It's truely mind boggling he didnt make it. Griffins team is 13 out of 15th best team in the west, how is that making a team win?? And who says wins should even matter about ASG, thats what the playoffs/finals are for. To me Love is arguably the best player in the league - most efficient, shoots 87% from the line, gets there almost 7 times a game, shoots 44% from three, And grabs 5 offensive boards a game, thats absolutely ridiculous- unheard of. defense would be nice but now im jus getting greedy.

I'm more offended by Ming being selected as an All-Star. At least he can be his replacement.

So it's the Los Antonio Thunder vs. the Miami Celt-Hawks

Those 6 teams make up 15 of the available 24 roster spots.
only 14 teams out of 30 are represented.
A handful of playoff teams aren't even represented.

One more thing Bron going to Miami ruined,....the all star game. I want to see a plethora of teams, players, and styles getting represented. I don't want to see a 2 or 3 team hybrid vs. hybrid.

I'd like to see the ballots on this one. Whose to say Vinny voted for someone like Ibaka just so Blake would get one more vote on Love. Yea, Rambis could have done the same thing...I'm just pretty upset that Love (and MN) once again get no Love.....and it's obvious Stern goes with Nash, Odom, or Aldridge to replace Yao.

Barkley just said "Kevin Love has a whack team! His team is whack!" lol

And Webber: "Punish the GM. Punish the coach trying to run the triangle. Don't punish Love."

Nash, Parker
Ellis
Odom
LMA, Z-Bo, Love

that's quite a group. plus Brandon Roy, Amare and Boozer would have been in this discussion a year ago.

All star game is all about marketability. Griffin on the team get significantly more views then Love on the team.

Normally I would cringe at a guy on an 11 win team getting an All-Star berth, but Kevin Love is historic right now. It's not like he's just putting up All-Star numbers on a bad team, he's putting up historic numbers, something we haven't seen in a long time. That makes him worthy of a berth IMO. But I can understand people deciding that he's just not making enough of a win impact, I kind of feel that way a little myself. But we've been in so many close games, it's just like if we had just a couple of vets to help close some games, we would have won a lot more.

There has been a lot of players on a lot of bad teams over the past 30 years and none of them have put up the numbers that Love is putting up this year. That argument is crap.

I disagree with you. Kevin Love is a fantasy league MVP, no doubt - he's got awesome numbers for a fantasy team. But in the real league the whole point is whether you are winning or losing the games. That argument is crucial.

Calinks had it absolutely spot on. Mega love for Barkley anyway, one of the better "pundits/analysts" on the TV.

Not only is Love an excellent rebounder, but look at the mans 3pt percentage and the amount of makes and attempts. Compare him to the other big man shooter:

Dirk:
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3252/career

Love:
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/4391/career

Dirk has never had that high of a percentage on that many average attempts. Love's 3pt percentage for the amount of shots he takes is ridiculous. Not to mention he is able to do it while his offensive rebounding is at an astounding 4.9 per game.

Don't get me wrong, I think a little stat padding is at work. A little. I think the loss against Memphis where Love got 10/10 exactly, proved how important stats are to Love. But if there are categories I want a player padding its 3 point percentage and rebounds. I think he is what people always accused KG of being while he was here. Does everything but cant help his team win. Hopefully this snub gets him to play defense, if he does that we have another all-nba player.

Over the last few years we have yearned for a player who can do what Love can do, and is that much fun to watch.
