The Lakers finally have some competition on the WC after two seasons of facing powder puffs like the Suns and Nuggets in the WCF...those days are gone!!! If they can get past the Mavs, they got us to deal with!!!!
You got the right to feel good right now DK, your boys are 2-0 on us this year. I'm not too worried yet because there is a certain point that I look to every year in our schedule to see where we're headed. This road trip for us is key, but I'm with you DK the west the last couple of years was just a push over for us.

But I'm old school DK, I love this challenge. Young guys want the Lakers to blow out every team just so they can come here and clown and get their rocks off on that stuff. But at the end of the day I believe that you have to see how your team plays in close games to get a feel for them. Last year and the year before that we won these types of games. Now you guys are this year.

Bottom line is this both me and you are 2 of the most confident guys that can see reality but yet be objective also. Both of us aren't afraid to see our teams clash, both believe we'll win...and I can respect that.

Overall we have some issues but they are fixable. I fully expect us to be in the WCF, yeah you guys will have the HCA...so be it. Nobody said winning a title was ever easy. Either way the Spurs and Lakers have to go through each other........it's inevitable.

Spurs should still see if they can get another big man before the deadline or hope that Dalembert seeks a buyout from Kings. I believe they still have another roster spot open after dropping Green and Udoka.

I have no idea what's your fascination with Dalembert.

Yo Deep, well it's mainly me just puffing my chest out, excited over the win. Does it mean I think we beat you in the playoffs? Not necessarily. I'd still be nervous as hell going into a series with the Lakers. We could sweep you guys in the reg season and I'd still be nervous.

Yeah, we're winning a lot of close games. Haters call it luck. I call it experience at closing out games. People forget we've done this before.

Agreed though Deep, our paths will cross in the playoffs at some point.

I had great seats to the game yesterday. When I got to San Diego in August my first day here I circled Feb 3rd on the calandar.

What an exciting game last night. Crowd was amazing. Its a great feeling winning on the road.

Exciting the way we got the win and especially missing some super easy buckets that just would not fall.

Actually that's not true. 90% of the Lakers fanbase weren't giving the Spurs any love a year ago and thought they'd represent the West for the next five years. Don't give me that baloney. Just continue eating your crow and shut it.

To be fair, it's not just the Lakers fanbase. No one (including realistic Spurs fans) thought we're done last year. Who thought we'd beat Dallas in the 1st round as a 7th seed? I remember before the playoff begin, lots of us were saying how the season would be considered a success if we made it past Dallas in the 1st round. It was only until we got past them and see Phoenix as our next opponent that our eyes got wide and thought WCF is within reach.

I personally thought we're finished entering the season. Who thought we'd be this good? Jefferson considered universally a bust. Splitter and James Anderson had to be incredible in their rookie year (Not likely). Blair had to blow up. Gary Neal was an old rookie signed to a cheap contract and I bet everyone thought he'll just rot as the 11th or 12th guy.

When we got knocked out last year, we weren't one role player short of a title team. We were a star player short (what RJ is supposed to be when we traded for him). We were a stud defensive big man short. We were extremely weak on 3 point shooting with RJ, Parker, Hill, Manu being streak shooters. We were lacking depth on the perimeter with 4 guys playing the PG, SG, SF position.
