I read this and I'm like man no wonder why we've seen nearly a million Granger trades in the last week alone.
Larry Bird does NOT need to trade Granger in order to keep his job.
He needs to get a quality veteran group behind the youth of this team with the right coach they will go forward in a HUGE way.

In a word: no.
With Paul George starting to take off a little bit, the PF is the only hole we still have (and it's not nearly as bad as we feared thanks to the play of Hansbrough and McBob.) Use our trade chips or use that cap space and make a run at David West/Nene/David West/whoever. I read somewhere that somebody mentioned T.J. Ford for Carl Landry. Can't remember if that was on here, Facebook, some random blog, or what. But I'd be on board with that. Give Carl Landry an abbreviated audition at being in the PF rotation for us. If we like him, look into re-signing him next year. If we don't, oh well. Let him and his expiring contract walk.

With Ford, Dunleavy, etc...they're not great, obviously. But the worst is that they're criminally overpaid. Foster and Duns would be decent cameo pieces at much-reduced salaries.

For starters that 'writer' needs to be taught how to proof read, then I might get around to saying how wrong I think he is with a lot of those points.

^^^ Yeah, although the picture of Tyler whacking I think Andris Biedrins in the face inadvertently is pretty funny on point #7.
And on the #2 point about opening up cap space, the writer has a picture of Carmelo Anthony. Does he really think Indy is going to land 'Melo, and that if we don't, Bird failed? How about a picture of David West, Jeff Green, or somebody like that?

It's so hard to take professional writing that hasn't been proofread seriously... I mean, when's the last time you saw something intelligent written by a third grader?

If you're reporting from the bleachers, chances are you shouldn't be taken seriously.

This article is rubbish, but we all know that. I say keep DG and sell a FA on playing next to him, maybe Green or West or Randolph, or ..
I really like the Ford - Landry deal, but I don't think we'd be that lucky. I'd include a 2nd rounder to get that done if that's what it took.
And what was with the picture of Melo? Are we in a Melo-or-bust scenario? So we salary dump DG to have a run at Melo, who just isn't coming here anyway?
Oh, and moving from the front office to the bench worked wonders for fellow-Celtic Kevin McHale.

^^I get where the writer is coming from about larry coming down to coach. I don't agree with him, butLarry did coach a team to the finals. And if anyone could work with this roster it would probably be him, because he created most of it.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Unless we start breaking down after Miami against teams like the T'Wolves, I wouldn't say that Bird coaching is anywhere near necessary.
