Thanks everyone for your well wishes. The way I see it it's not necessarily the one who had the loss who has a need. (I do have some myself though.) Even though I appreciate every bit of your reaching out. I felt that. I posted because it's more a message to everyone that whatever came before is washed away in the end. Like for example my brother said "I haven't talked to her in twenty years." So what, do you think at all that it matters? It doesn't. We all think it does, we all hate ourselves in various ways for the things we think we could have done better. It doesn't matter.

Hear, it doesn't matter. So stop beating yourselves/myself up. It doesn't matter.

My Father said he "made peace" with his little sister, he had grown distant from her. Do you think she cares? No, c'mon. She just wants to see her big brother happy as she passes. IMO as you pass on you gain perspective and you see that people do the best they can and it's not always what they wanted to do because we all have our failures but it's what they were capable of at the time. That's all you can ever do.

I feel for you. In the last 6 months I lost my mother, grandmother and mother in law all due to cancer. This devastated my family. I was so glad to get 2010 over with, then last week a good friend of mine passes away unexpectedly...just 2 hours after I spent a half hour talking to him at my job (he came to visit and chat) about life in general. His last words to me were, "I'm happy where everything is at right now...Life's good".

Hang in there...and cherish the one's that are here.

Hang in there bro.

Don't know what to say. Just that I'm thinking of you and my heart goes out and embraces. I can't even logically think how to process what you went through. It's overwhelming.

We're all together though, know that. Sorry, I got nothing else, wish I did.

Thank You. It's as much therapy as advice. Do as I say and not as I do. I judge myself far too much. No reason to really, for anyone...what makes you/I think you/i know the answer to any question? Just putting it out there.

The times are a bit weird now. I'm at the age (46) where the people I have loved and known all my life are having problems. Then you have the the ones you love that are older that aren't having problems but you can see the fear in their eyes when they hear about people in their age group suffering, you know they think about their own mortality. What can you say?

Sorry about what you've gone through. Don't know how I'll react when one of my parents go. Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents are at least once removed. Parents go, IMO that's when you know the clock is ticking for yourself...and you're lonely...at least I know I'll be. How do you let go of someone who's been such a big part of your life? How do you react when you know "you're it" and there is no backup? I'm ok with it, just wondering what it's like.

Based on this information, you aren't a Knick fan at all.

Serious question...

Post#738 » by alphad0gz » Sat Feb 5, 2011 11:57 am

First..my condolences.

My question is why do people feel compelled to share there PERSONAL loss with people that don't know each other? Shouldn't that be something shared between friends and family?

Under God, we are all one. Satan wants us divided and God wants us to share and live as one. It is perfectly okay to share things that are going on in our personal lives.
