The All-Pro elected to have surgery on his right shoulder after the season on Jan. 10, precluding him from being able to play in the game. Interestingly, Suh told the Portland Tribune the injury is one he originally suffered as a senior at Nebraska.

He was still a quality player for a few years, just not an impact guy. He was never a big practice worker, not even during his workouts and training leading into the draft.
I'm very excited by Suh's potential. Detroit hasn't had an elite talent since Barry Sanders, and even with Barry there was always a credible argument that somebody else (Emmitt Smith, Terrell Davis) was better. Suh can be the unquestioned dominant defensive tackle in the game as soon as next season. He was just warming up in 2010!
