Dallas is on a role. I don't see anyway we win this game. We absolutely NEED DJ to get out of his 2 game scoring slide. IF we can get a repeat game by Jack (who i think we can now depend on again for that) AND Wallace with DJ getting back to his norm of 18 ppg then we win this game. IF all 3 of those guys can start consistently producing at or above 18 ppg then we will ease our way to the playoffs. However so far we have not seen it from all 3 at the same time, and we have not seen it from Wallace for more than 1 game every other week.

Good thing is, I don't see Dallas getting the same calls Miami got last night. And it's a new officiating crew...so that's always good.

Hopefully we see more of Collins too. I think Silas is on the verge of benching Liv all together. Not playing him a single minute int he second half, and limiting his minutes in the 2nd quarter was a pretty surprising move. When Collins comes in this team doesn't really miss a beat in transition from DJ. Collins is also a 3 point threat. I'm still not sure that he will even be a solid bench player, but I woudl rather him than Livingston. It's really too bad we threw all that money at Liv, even though I didn't disagree with it at the time. I wonder if anyone would have interest in him?

Really? That was a horrible game down the stretch. Each team did their best to give the game away late. Dallas airballed twice in the last two minutes, Boston shot itself in the foot nearly every trip down the court...

Between the 3 game stretch of Mia, Dal, Bos - this is the most winnable game.

I think there is a reason for this.

We average 77 fga's per game as a team - so really, there are only a certain amount of shots to go around.

On a night like last night when Jax and Crash are hot and take half of that amount between them (they took 36 shots last night out of a possible 74), there aren't going to be too many shots left for the other 8 players to share around.

So while DJ passed up on some shots I thought he should have taken last night, was he being timid, or just doing what a good PG should do by creating shots for his team mates and feeding the hot hands (especially considering Boris and Hendo took 10 shots a piece too).

If that is the case, you have to think about the make up of our team and what is most effective.

Oh, and while it would be nice for DJ, Jax and Crash to all average 18ppg each, I think it's important to note there are only two teams with three players currently scoring 18ppg or more each. They are:

Bulls (Rose, Deng and Boozer)
and
Heat (Wade, James, Bosh)

so that might not be a realistic target?

dont get your hopes up about benching liv. he will be back in his usual role tonight.

i am at least happy that collins appears to be a borderline nba player. maybe i was wrong about him. i like that he is confident. you cant be shy as a pg. it doesnt work that way.

Especially considering he went undrafted (not a confidence boost), played under Larry Brown for a few months (murderous to one's self esteem), and is playing third string. I liked seeing him taking shots even though guys who are used to taking shots were on the court too.

I know i'm not wrong about Collins, he still sucks, but he's more competent at running an offense than Livs. I wouldn't even be mad if he got all of Livs minutes just quietly.

He's also a decent shooter, whereas livingston can only score in the mid-high post area. Livo does like two things on offense. Post ups and tossing alley oops. On defense though, he does some interesting things just not consistently.
