I'd do the Phx trade to get Robin, and I'd do the Utah, Houston one to get TWill.

THE SMARTEST TRADE SO FAR is the Sonny Weems/Robin Lopez makes sense for both sides.

The next smartest thing BC could ever possibly do is get fkkkin OJ MAYO..

Bayless/Mayo/Derozan/Bargs/Lopez = Top 5 in the East EAAAASILY.. if BC skips out on Mayo, like he did to Beasley its gonna be a hopeless future in the DOT

^^ I really don't think Weems has enough value to net Lopez on his own. Maybe they'd do it if we added the Miami pick, or one of Alabi/Ajinca.

We'd need to find a way to trade for the other Lopez twin too... we'd have an intimidating C rotation with Andrea, Alexis, Brook, and Robin

Lopez' value is in the dumper;
But if I needed to add the Miami pick to make it work I would do so in a heartbeat

I can see targeting T-will and CDR as part of the accumlating of assets but everyone else I don't think so. At this point I think they are going to like Jones III for their pick. Unless a Barbosa deal knocks our socks off he has more value as the back-up point and then being moved at a future deadline. Having said that I fully expect him to be moved. I would rather have a tough centre than the Lopez sisters. By the way Dampier looked pretty good last night. It is going to be tough to attract veteran help at the 5. Gordon Hayward? Seriously.

I would perfectly content with an actual center;

Our fanbase is made up of gourmet hobos,
The assets we have requires us to pick through the trash when it comes to other teams players, and while Lopez isn't Dwight he is certainly an upgrade over any five on the roster.

J. Calderon for S. Telfair

- depending on whether the t-wolves will want two long term options at pg with ridnour and calderon
- depending on whether the t-wolves are willing to add 6.6m in salary
- depending on whether a spanish influence at pg might sway rubio into minnesota
- depending on whether the raptors are willing to add another shoot-first point guard
- depending on whether we would need to send compensation or picks or bundle other players in the trade

this is just the main exchange here ... tell what i've got

I wonder if there is a way to snag Brandon Rush from the Pacers?

Maybe a 2 part trade.

Rush for TPE

&

Evans/Alabi + Cash for Jeff Foster

Saves them money and they get a decent PF to play alongside Hibbert.

I like Rush. Defensive and can shoot the 3. Great longterm option off the bench.

BTW, I really like the core pieces on that Pacers team. You have Collison, Granger and Hibbert moving forward. Paul George is looking like a solid draft. Once you have some caproom you get another impact player and your looking like a mid level playoff team.

My gourmet hobo nature says Robin Lopez at 7 ppg in 17 mins and 3.5 boards might not be enough help. Also do we want AB taking mins from Amir and Ed at the 4 ? I think Dalembert as a bench player would be a better option.

Hence to gourmet hobo,
Dalembert comes at a higher price then Weems, better players come at a higher price then Weems.

Lopez tossed up 9/5 in less then 20 minutes last season on a team that doesnt exactly reward defensive prowess, and if we was anywhere close to that he wouldnt be available for a poo-poo platter. Even if I toss the stats aside he is a center who plays defense and takes contact and we dont have one of those on the roster right now.

For a guy I dont see us resigning and a TPE I dont see us utilizing, its not a bad return.

I find it hard to believe we'll make any purposeful moves before the deadline. I doubt BC will look to dump Calderon considering we really have no one to play the PG if Bayless goes down - as he is now. Barbosa is the only real possibility, but again with the lack of depth... I doubt it'll happen. We might make a minor move here or there to get in a so-so young player... but I just can't see BC making anything major happen... I hope I'm wrong.

Grizzlies Shopping Mayo

The Grizzlies are making O.J. Mayo available in trade talks, but one rival general manager believes their asking price is currently prohibitive.

Memphis is seeking a player that would improve their chances of reaching the 2011 Playoffs.

^^ Barbosa/Weems are both outplaying Mayo this year.... if taking Thabeet and adding minor assets like the Miami pick/Alabi/Ajinca/Dorsey will get it done (not likely if the cost is prohibitive as this GM is saying), I'd be all for that...anything more and there's really no point for us.

Yup, only a team like the Raps will be willing to part with their vets for a guy like Mayo. We have nothing to play for and don't mind gutting any chance of winning for the future. I do it.

For sure. Barbosa+Weems+MIA pick for Mayo+Thabeet is beneficial for both teams and should definitely be pursued by Colangelo.

I would do that;
Not because I think any of those guys are great, but if they get minutes and in Mayos case a green light to fire at will his value may be respectable next season.

I doubt Memphis is willing to take on an extra 3 mill in salary... they've also put his price up pretty high... I doubt anything less than Barbosa + Davis would be able to get us Mayo + Thabeet.

this deal saves them 3 million next year to keep Gasol & Randolph. They take on 3 million but dont hit luxury tax
