Hey Grizz fans I posted this on the Blazers board and wanted to get your thought's?
This is my first trade idea post so here goes nothing!! This trade idea kind of blends some of the rumbling's that I have seen on both the Memphis and the Portland board's together. Seems to help out both teams in my eyes.
Memphis Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players
Joel Przybilla, Andre Miller, Elliot Williams, Rudolfo Fernandez, and New Orleans 2011 1st round pick
Outgoing Players
Mike Conley, Hasheem Thabeet, O.J. Mayo, Hamed Haddadi
Portland Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players
Mike Conley, Hasheem Thabeet, O.J. Mayo, Hamed Haddadi
Outgoing Players
Joel Przybilla, Andre Miller, Elliot Williams, Rudolfo Fernandez, and New Orleans 2011 1st Round pick
Why for Memphis: They get a solid veteran PG with a team option for next season that can feed Z-Bo and Gasol while still allowing Gay to create his own shot when needed as well as having Rudy to spread the floor and knock down the 3. Plus you get the Spanish connection and maybe down the road you can pry Ricky Rubio away from Minny to come play with his fellow Spaniards and create The Spanish Armada! Also you get a solid backup C/expiring deal in Pryzbilla to help this year in the playoffs and next year you can resign him at a pretty cheap price or just let the money come off the books? Elliot Williams is a added bonus being that he is a hometown kid and played his college ball at Memphis and has alot of potential and a wicked 48" vertical!! A Williams/Henry back court could be a pretty nice spark off the bench?! Maybe the NO pick could be packaged with another 1st round pick either this year's or a future 1st to acquire Rubio as it doesn't sound like he is too keen on playing for Minny anytime soon? I think the chance to play with Gasol and Rudy would really help to persuade him to come over to The US and play for the Grizzlies and Miller could be resigned for cheap for a couple seasons to start and tutor Rubio until he is ready to take over the reigns as a starting PG in the NBA. I really think that Memphis would be a very exciting team to watch and tough to match up against if this were to come to fruition somehow?
Why for Portland: We bring in Conley in hopes that Oden's homeboy can bring back the beast we had hoped we drafted in 07? That coupled with Oden getting back down to around 250-260lbs and The Vulcans/Front Office firing all of the Blazers Medical and Training Staff and using some of Paul Allen's bread to hire the Dream Team of Medical and Training personel this offseason so that we can nip this FrailBlazer's nonsense in the bud!!!! OJ obviously needs a change of scenery and although he has a bad rep I think this current Blazer's clubhouse can absorb it and possibly help him live up to all his potential? Thabeet I think could learn a ton from Camby similar to how Aldridge has so far, and The Blazers are going to need a backup C at some point because Camby isn't getting any younger. Haddadi is just filler and hopefully give us a reason to cut loose Sean Marks?!lol! Plus a 2012 Starting 5 of Conley/Mayo or Matthews/Batum/LA/Oden would be pretty sick!! Anything that Roy can give us is an added bonus IMO. Camby, and Thabeet should have no problems anchoring the 2nd unit's defense at all!
