I predict Fats posting when he gets home tonight and smashing DJ for all of about 15 mins of his play tonight.

And rightfully so.

We played a good game again tonight. Cant really complain about anything. The effort was there, we just lost to a better squad.

Much like yesterday, we're just in the JV league compared to these types of contending teams. This is why I urge people to stay grounded after wins against squads like Golden State when some people invariably get giddy and suddenly believe we're going places.

you are correct sir ;)

id love to give a hammer to dj but he did all his damage in two 5 min spurts, one when game was basically over. his poor 1st quarter was one of the main reasons we were in a giant hole to begin with. too little too late for me tonight from dj. his defense on barea in the 1st quarter was dreadful. he didnt fair much better on terry either. but as poor as dj played in the 1st quarter and early 3rd, we really needed him in the game much sooner in the 4th. silas left liv out there way too long, even though liv was half decent tonight.

najera did a really good job on dirk in the 2nd half, much better than anyone else did.

re: dirk, why the hell didnt we double him more when he was in the post? too many times we allowed them to clear out with dirk vs boris and no double. boris is a great defender but no single defender can stop dirk when he gets the ball that low.

pussyfoot was pretty damn good tonight. dude is a prick though.

jason terry is so money.

the worst part of tonight was the really disappointing effort by the whole team in the 1st and 3rd quarters. we are god awful on 2nd night of back to back games. this team has such a hard time matching the energy of the opponent.

He's played 35mpg under Coach Silas.

Meh, whatever. That's a pretty big amount of minutes though, don't you think? I mean, he asked for 3 minutes sooner, so that would be like 38 mpg, which is more than we really need to put on him. I dunno, Maybe Livingston is being shopped secretly.

silas was obviously not happy with dj's defense and overall play in the 1st quarter which is why he got benched for 2nd quarter. dj didnt wake up until late in the 3rd but he needed a break. liv came in and he was playing pretty good. i think silas was trying to ride the team on the floor in the 4th, but he stayed with that team about 3 minutes too long. dj should have come back as soon as we cut it back to 9.

you are right. we can all agree that liv has been rather awful as a pg this year, but i am starting to think that many of this board have such an intense dislike for the guy that they cant see when he does some good things. its easy to focus on every bad play a guy makes when you are only looking at the bad stuff. liv annoys me a a pg and silas stuck with him too long tonight, but liv was hardly one of the reasons we lost tonight. he was decent which is better than most of the team played tonight. the liv situation reminds me of tyson last year. everyone hated him so much that that could never appreciate when he did something good for a change.

all that being said, collins should play more pg and liv should play more wing. just isnt a good enough shooter or playmaker to be a pg.

I like a LOT of what you post DM, but here is where you lose me.

The effort was there. Really? I thought our effort STUNK for the 1st half. We were horrible. Every single player on the floor (for us) played timid while every single player (for them) played like they could not miss.

Our effort last night, against the Heat, was wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better IMO.

We got smacked tonight.

you are right.

Wait - right because I am flying solo, or right because Livingston was pretty good tonight?

I cant tell your angle (blame the beer, wings, beer, basketball, beer, wings, beer, UFC, beer, RGM)

Just to clarify, I want to emphasize I am speaking of effort, not results.

Barea gave DJ fits and Augustin certainly didnt play the greatest of games. Their execution left much to be desired. But I dont attribute it to lack of effort. I dont think DJ or anyone else gave up out there tonight like we saw happen more than once back when Larry Brown was running the show.

i didnt care for our effort to start both halves. thought we came out passive and half-asleep. intensity wasnt there.
