Do you disagree that this would be a bigger fleece than the Lakers trade? We're giving up Curry, Chandler, and Randolph for Carmelo if this deal goes through. That's robbery.

It's robbery for the most part. It's just that you have to look at Mannix's whole body of work in this context. He's been another guy saying that Melo to NJ was inevitable, etc. He's ridiculous.

And his knowledge is bad. But yeah, it's a nice deal for us.

I think the savings for Denver are big. They get a pick, a young prospect who is a good player, and savings. Not bad since their backs are against the wall. So Minnesota is doing this deal just to get Randolph? But they're giving up a pick AND taking on a bad contract. Seems steep. Shhhhhhh.

My big concern here is the lack of credibility... not of Broussard but Ujiri.

The guy jerked NJ around, has never ever EVER made an NBA trade in his life. That's right look it up.

I don't really get that at all. If Rose is really saying Knicks extension or nothing like has been reported the Nuggets have no choice. I mean BEFORE we found out about Minny and Curry it made sense for them to sit out and not just take Chandler as mediocre picks and just let him walk after making playoffs. But now you add 25 MILLION in savings, with picks, and some solid prospects it has become a no-brainer. All the leverage has shifted into our corner between Knicks or bust claims and the Curry to Minny.

Now not only would the Denver owner look foolish if he let him walk for nothing but he would also have to pay 25 Frickin Million on top of it. Making the playoffs (something they can do if Chandler plays like he did earlier in the year) is not worth it.

I'm sorry but the risk is too much and the Knicks have no incentive to sweeten the deal anymore either. Maybe we will throw them a bone and take on Harrington or an extra pick.

Sounds to me like this whole report is getting overblown, and the only news is that the nuggets and Knicks are discussing a deal, but nothing is really close.

Exactly. This isn't the same situation. Melo is going to walk & they get nothing. They get something substantial with this deal. Better than nothing.

Plus didn't the Griz get Marc Gasol in that deal? That's not exactly that bad a fleecing. They got one of the better scoring big men in the game. Mannix might be worse than Broussard when it comes to knowledge of the game, though he's still better than Mitch Lawrence who is ranked dead last. Mannix is awful though.
