Add this to the collection of games where we crumble in the 4th.

The one and only positive. I actually would take low TOs and bad shooting over high TOs and good shooting. Least with the low TOs you know that the wolves might be playing smart

Defense is hopeless, so not going to bother talking about that

Why was Brewer only played for 4 of the fourth?

Cause Rambis loves to use his 2nd unit when we have momentum going into the 4th...then when 7 mins pass and we make 1 FG, he realises that he should have stuck with the starters....by that stage its too late

Idiot he is

It was mostly the second unit that was on the court when the momentum was built at the end of the third, so I don't get your point.

When fans are complaining Corey Brewer is not getting enough 4th Q PT you know your team is TERRIBLE. Funny how the same people who were defending Rambis when I was criticizing his treatment of Wes are calling him an idiot when the shoe is on the other foot.

Nothing Rambis could have done would have made a difference tonight. Wes was playing good D and taking good shots, they just weren't falling for him tonight. Brewer came in with 4 mins left, did nothing, and was torched by Afflalo and a hot JR Smith. Flynn had 11 pts on 13 shots. Billups had 21 and 13 assists on only 9 FGA. Putting Flynn/Brewer in for Telfair/Wes earlier wasn't going to make a difference. That 2nd unit Rambis put out there (led by Wes, Telfair, and Tolliver) was the only unit that could get a stop on D, and their D cut a 13 pt deficit down to 2 before Rambis brought the starters back. It was just too bad their shot quit falling in 4th.

As much crap as Ridnour takes this team really misses him, his D, while not great, is worlds better than Flynn, and the offense is more efficient with him out there.
Ridnour is 47/44/91 with a 5.7/2.0 A/T ratio.
As much as people rip on him, those are good #'s and hard to replace.
Flynn is 37/30/77 with a 3.3/2.0 A/T so far.

I think with Ridnour playing the last 2 games were winnable games.

Beasley seemed to have a really hard time moving laterally. I wish they would just sit him until after the All-Star break and let that ankle heal fully. I can't believe they let him play after spraining it for the 4th or 5th time last night, especially for an 11-win team.

He could have realized that the Triangle offense is an absolutely terrible fit for the talent that the team has and changed it to something that fits better. :dontknow: That's something.

EVERYBODY seems to say this but nobody ever bothers to offer an alternative.

What should they run? None of the wings can dribble, so an ISO based system is out. They already run PnRs and those usually end up going through Darko's hands or ending up as a Love/Tolliver jump shot, so that's too predictable. Then what? Screens? The only wing that's shown they can run off screens is Webster so unless he's the team's newest star, that's out as well.

Honestly, the "triangle" is the only hope this team really has. A passing and movement based offence, considering the lack of handles on the team, is the only thing that would in theory cover the team's biggest weakness. They just haven't gotten a handle on it yet.

Just got home a little bit ago...

Kevin Love puts up some of the easiest stats in the NBA. 18/19, and he rarely has plays called for him.

On the other side, I was not happy with Beasley. Shot selection was terrible at times, and I was SHOCKED to see he had 5 assists. I'd be fine with his shots if he'd provide something on the defensive end. And how can you miss two free throws like that, early in the game or not? I hate to say it, but in these past few weeks, Beasley is becoming my new Brewer.

That block was pretty sweet! Was even better live than it was watching the highlights.

Oh yeah, and I hope to never see a lineup of Telfair/Johnson/Hayward/Tolliver/Pekovic for extended minutes again!

No kidding. Especially when Johnson is clearly having an off night and Tolliver is in a funk. That lineup is practically begging Bassy to throw up some bad shots.

If I had to study then I'd have done the same.

The regular Wolves season ticket fans must be on suicide watch.
