Why doesn't Durant guard the 4 and Green play the 3?

I mean, if Green is going to start. Doesn't this make too much sense?

They probably don't want Durant to get beaten up over the course of the entire season which is what would happen due to his weight at the 4

In the playoffs however, he would be better off guarding the 4

I agree that you don't want Durant taking a physical pounding from players who will routinely weight 20+ pounds more every game.

Stating the above, i can't help but feel respect for Jeff Green. He routinely takes on bigger, longer players without complaint. Most of the players in the league who are asked to play out of position eventually complain publicly about how it hurts their numbers.

In years they will switch. But, think of Green as Jamison n' Durant as Dirk. That is who they will b in a couple of years.
