The Grizzlies are making O.J. Mayo available in trade talks, but one rival general manager believes their asking price is currently prohibitive.
Memphis is seeking a player that would improve their chances of reaching the 2011 Playoffs.

If Mayo is on the block, should Sacramento be in the mix?
Would he be that 3rd guy to be the long term pairing with Evans & Cousins?

What should Sacramento be willing to offer for him? How like is a smart offer by Sacramento to be seriously considered by Memphis?

My thoughts exactly. I love Mayo as a player, but as a person he's kind of a question mark. We don't need someone on this team attacking people on the team plane when he loses at poker.

I think a lot of the Mayo stuff will depend on the asking price. I think if we could get him for Landry, and filler pieces and maybe a 2nd then it's probably worth a shot, but if the asking price is significantly higher then going after Wright or Morrow would be clearly better

Eh, I'm not worried at all. That banned substance bull**** is just that, bull****. It's not like the guy was injecting that horse garbage into his butt or anything. Complained about PT a bit, but who wouldn't. If we could land Mayo for anything short of Evans, Cousins, our pick, and maybe Casspi we do it even if he's not the best fit on paper.

If we were to get Mayo I would not be concerned to much about attitude etc. with him.
The Kings have never let ones attitude etc. be a major factor in draft or trades just see the following .

Drafting Cousins =s 1st- 2nd best player in the draft at the 5th selection we all know Cuz has alot of passion & yes some attitude ( most great players that are vocal leaders have these qualities ) IMHO its a great thing to have .
If we look at the past we traded for ARTEST giving up Peja & we all remember Artest's issues , his major fight issue in the stands , destroying a tv camera while playing for the Pacers etc.
C-webb had issues with D.Nelson his coach & those issues were consistant . Not to mention when traded Petrie didnt let the fact that C-webb said countless times he didnt want anything to do with SAC saying there is nothingh to do in Sac as well as no real places to eat his soul food etc.

My point is simple attitude etc. usually wont affect weather or not the Kings go after a player
The only exceptions IMHO would be in cases such as G,Arenas having a gun in a locker room & pulling it out & as well as L.Sprewell example when Spree played for the Warriors he chocked his coach P.J. Carlesimo in practice . These 2 scenerios are the type of example were I can see the Kings deciding that these are the type of behavioral issues the Kings would clearly not try to aquire players like those & having it affect them in terms of not trading or signingh players like them .

Mayo would be an absolute fantastic pick up as long as we dont have to give up way to much .
If the price was to high I would pass . Though with his gambling issue & more recent issue with a banned substance I believe in the end the asking price for the Grizz to trade him will come down alot & he will get dealt its just a question of where ? & when ?

I like him. but SG may not be our most pressing need. That said, I think Hes very talented and I think if he goes to the right team he can flourish.

If we get Mayo I think that actually could work. Mayo IMO can play the Doug Christie role if he bought into it. He's more talented than Christie though so it could work on steroids!

The only question I have is can anyone get through to this guy? If so I'd love the lineup with he and Casspi at the wings.

He definitely has not had his best year both on and off the court but talent is talent and he has it. All off the court issues aside, I would like to see a Mayo tyreke duo at least tried. He can shoot the three wich is exactly what we need next to tyreke so I definitely say yes to anything besides tyreke cousins and casspi.

Honestly, I think Tyreke needs to be a 2 guard. Thats just my opinion, and with that said I agree that that is not the most pressing need of this team.

However, with that said, we do need outside shooting badly. With Cisco down Omri is our only real deep threat. We need more outside threats to spread the floor. It will help Tyreke get to the rim and will give Cuz more space down low. If Mayo can be that guy for us, then bring it on.

The workable thing about a guy like Mayo is he's a lot like Tyreke in that he plays more of a combo type of role. Between the two there is more than enough ball handling/play making. Defensively they'd be able to switch too, which I think is going to be an important factor for this team moving forward. We need guys that can switch on the perimeter so it will cut down on the easy pick and rolls teams get every game.

If we could get Mayo to buy into being a playmaker, he could be a steal. Mayo, Evans, Casspi, JT and DMC would be a nice young core. Make it happen Petrie.

Mayo can ball but his track record going all the way back to his high school days says he is trouble. No thanks

Rather focus on Steph Curry, but I think Mayo would be a great consolation.

Warriors are not going to give up Steph Curry unless we include Tyreke or DMC. I don't think that our 1st + filler is enough to nab him away. Though as limited as his defense is, his offensive skill set is pretty incredible.

I would think that Petrie and ownership would like to see how this team learns and grows together before blowing it up without taking a good few years to see what they have exactly. Wish they would've held on to Kmart just a bit longer to see exactly what we could've had.

But Mayo was not having these problems before the season started and Cousins is producing. Mayo's production hasn't been that great even tho he is a bench warmer.
