Post#1 » by geeman » Mon Feb 7, 2011 2:20 am

Guys, Atlanta fan here. I don't know your teams plans now that melo may not be comming, but is Devin Harris in NJ future? I just love his game and he'd fit perfect in our scheme. Other than Josh, Al or Joe what would it take? heres a as start.. please don't kill me!

Devin Harris
27.5 year old , 6-3, 185 lb G from Wisconsin
15.2 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 7.9 apg in 32.0 minutes
Outgoing Players
Marvin Williams
24.5 year old , 6-9, 230 lb F from North Carolina
10.9 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 1.3 apg in 29.7 minutes
Jeff Teague
22.5 year old , 6-2, 180 lb G from Wake Forest
3.8 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 1.9 apg in 11.8 minutes
And our first this year

Marvin Williams is a non-starter for me.

Personally I don't see devin as part of our future, although I would like to see us try and package him with picks for more elite players than you mentioned. A three team trade could work tho, i wouldn't be opposed to trading harris + picks for a high caliber player (preferably a sf or pg)

I would do

Sasha Vujacic, Devin Harris and Travis Outlaw

for

J Crawford & Josh Smith

TTFWIW - but I have heard that Harris has been traded. Mind you I have absolutely no idea where, nor do I have any details, but it should come out in the next 24-48 hours.

Yeah I really doubt that. Stranger things have happened though, link? I searched high and low for anything and I haven't seen a thing.

Wouldn't be surprised but I also thought Melo would be a Net by now.

I also thought Vince was going to the Blazers a few years back and Kidd was a Laker.

Things can heat up fast and cool down just as fast, if not faster.

::Edit::

Only thing I can find is that he changed agents to Henry Thomas

You got a buddy who works for them?

I wish my "insider" didn't go back to grad school.

A kid I graduated college with who I never spoke to in my life but am friends with on Facebook works in PR for the Nets. I really need to try to develop that relationship without coming off creepy lol.

Lol, awesome.

I always thought that guy was one of your IRL friends.

Can you say from who you heard it, or at least a somewhat vague hint?

if the info is legit it will be official before tomorrow's game. Really nothing to hint, like I said got no details, just that Devin was gone.

But who did you hear it from?

Can you at least give a hint even if you can't straight out the dude?

I'm not doubting you, just interested in how likely this is.

As in was it your ticket agent, or is your uncle best friends with John Loyer? :)

Don't have tickets and my uncle doesn't follow basketball so that's 2 possibilities down.

In terms of likelihood I could try to tell you I have an idea but I don't. I trust what I was told - it was simple, to the point, and definite, which made me think something would have gotten out by now. Maybe there's a reason it hasn't or maybe it's just flat out bull.

Hmm... Interesting...

These are the teams I imagine would be in the mix:

Dallas
Portland
Houston
Memphis
Orlando

^^I don't see Houston or Orlando as possible destinations. Houston has a Logjam with Lowry and Brooks.. while Orlando desperately needs depth at the 4 and 5, not another PG.

I could see Atlanta and Detroit making a push for Harris.

Good call with Atlanta, they completely slipped my mind.

I was thinking of Detroit myself, but I just think they keep it moving with their draft pick, although I would think they would do a Stuckey for Devin swap, but I wouldn't, Stuckey half sucks IMO, sort of a poor man's Devin in a sense.

As for Houston, it seems Brooks and them have a beef going, so I would imagine it would center around that if they were the team.

And with Orlando, I would think it would be a straight swap of Devin for Jameer Nelson, maybe someone else like Earl Clark thrown in, but they are more a dark horse to me.

I could see BK trading Devin for Brooks and Jefferies or Battier.Houston will probably try to get their pick back and succeed.

One can only hope that Rowdy Roddy Thorn is going to do us a solid and send Louis Williams, Nocioni and filler such as Kapono for Devin Harris and Travis Outlaw. :D
