It seems like there's really only a couple of 4's that will have an immediate impact. Sullinger... and... uhhhhhhhh... Kanter's a C... Nevermind... Most of them are guys with potential but they've all got holes in their games in some ways. Feels like too much of a crap shoot to spend a high pick on one of many potential busts waiting to happen. Early twenty's and hope for a Taj Gibson seems reasonable enough. I personally like Markieff Morris or Trey Thompkins.

Thompkins is the one that caught my eye. Markieff isn't that bad, but then that's the "other brother" all over again :-?
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

He is small and not athletic. He will always be a liability defensively and he will never be the PG Nash is.

Nash in college got 6+apg and didnt score that much. Freddette scores 27 a game and the ~4 assists he is getting are a product of him being such a scoring threat in college.

It's funny though, you just described Nash with those first two sentences. I don't think anyone thought Nash would be the point guard he is.

People booed Dan Majerle when the Suns drafted him.

Please Steve Nash was never a score-first PG. Even in college he averages 16/6+. Over the 6 apg at the college level is extremely good, Fredette is nowhere near the passer. If he wasnt such a scoring threat he wouldn't even get the 4 he is getting right now.

And even if Fredette was the next Nash, how many freaking years did it take Nash to develop into the great player he is?

If Fredette is the same he won't be on the team that drafted him for long.

And still if he turns quickly into Nash I would still rather have a PG like Paul, WIlliams etc who can play both ends of the floor. With Fredette you already have it as a given that he will suck defensively.

I still think Jimmer can become a good passer. He has basically carried BYU (next leading scorer is 12 ppg) by himself. If he has an opportunity where he didn't have to do everything, I think he'd become very Nash-like. I mean, he's been the majority of the offense and he's almost a 50-40-90 guy (47-41-89). Even if he doesn't turn into a great passer, his shooting is outstanding, which is perfect for a team that likes taking jump shots.

If we don't trade for a big in this draft and get an early pick. I wouldn't mind Fredette.... though I see him as a two inches shorter version of Jeff Hornacek.

Which, would be good for the Suns. He's a pure jump/distance shooter. And a good one.

Do you think the suns will try to trade for a higher draft pick? I wouldn't mind gambling on someone like a terrence jones, perry jones, or sullinger.

I'm frankly over "potential" draft picks. Find those in the 2nd round.

If you're middle of the pack, 1st round, go BPA and hope they can continue to develop their game. I don't need some 6'10" PF with potential that won't be on the team in 2 years.

Seriously, go for Blair in the 2nd, or even with ORL's pick... but you are locked into those 1st round rookie scales... you might as well make sure that they can contribute.
