I think with the healthy return of Finley, Chillar, Woodson, and Driver, we could definitely make another run.

But I just don't want to think too much about it right now. Gotta enjoy this while we can.

Enjoy yesterday.

Pretty much the entire country though we'd be going to a three-peat during the week before Super Bowl 32. We would kick the Broncos by 20 points and then come back the next year with Favre, Brooks, Levens, Reggie, Butler, etc. etc.

Then Denver, as 14-point underdogs kicked our ass in SB 32. Then in 1998 Holmgren got a big head, FA's left, key guys got injured, Randy Moss showed up in our division, we got jobbed on that Jerry Rice fumble/non-fumble. Two years later we are watching a Ray Rhodes team struggle to finish 8-8.

I'm sure people can come up with logical reasons why this is different than back then. But we were kings of the NFL at the time. I'd just say soak up the aus jus of this and enjoy the next 8-months where we get all the media love. Next year will come soon enough.

+1

Looking back I remember taking SB 32 for granted bigtime.

I took it for granted that we were there,I took it for Granted we would win and I took for granted we'd probably win a 3rd.

Along the same lines I think the biggest thing looking back was Holmgren leaving,if Holmgren would have stayed through lets say 2006 or 2007 we probably would have won 1 or 2 Super Bowls between 1999-2007 IMO.

I was disappointed we only won one in the Favre era. I'd be disappointed if we only win one in the Rodgers era.

In the end though, a Super Bowl is a Super Bowl. I was in Green Bay over the weekend and it was awesome. One of the best decisions I have ever made to go up there for the game. It was a blast. :D

I think we'll win at least one more with Aaron so long as his career doesn't get derailed by injuries, but i've just watched the NFL long enough to see how often a franchise looks to have a super bright future and then for a variety of reasons, they don't have a dominant stretch. Especially in a league where the playoff system isn't a 5 or 7 game series format, it's lose once and you're done. So many things can happen in a playoff game that makes the better team lose on a given day.

I was working in Dallas the week before SB 32. The Cowboys fans were livid on talk radio about Green Bay. They assumed GB would crush Denver and then win a third the next year. At that point, the pundits would anoint a three-peat GB as the team of the 90's and not Dallas who had won 3 in 4 years.

Of course a few days later that was all moot as we lost to Denver. Then they become the next dynasty with a two-peat and Terrell Davis.

Most Super Bowl winners look damn invincible right after they win. I'm just happy as heck we got one here during a year when a lot of things went wrong. That rarely if ever happens. Next year should set up as the 13-3 year, where GB is the year-long favorite.

We may be a bit like Denver was in 1997. They snuck the first one out and then were dominant from start to finish to win the second.

I'd say we are in a much better position than most recent SB winners. That being said, if you offered me a straight up bet of them winning another in the next 5 years I'd totally gobble that bet up on the side of them not doing it. It is damned hard to win it all.

I'm going to enjoy the **** out of this one before i even ponder any thoughts about a dynasty. Anything can happen. Injuries *knock on wood. All i know is that we'll be in the mix for the next foreseeable future and I'm quite happy to take those odds.

I was really young at the time, were we really supposed to 3-peat? Couldn't everyone see the impending FAs we had after SB 32?

My main concern is really just the health of Rodgers and Woodson. Rodgers has suffered at least two concussions this year, potentially a third unreported one. The Packers can deal with injuries at other positions but to win a title, a team needs a stud QB.

Woodson is just very irreplaceable and there are not many players that do what he does. His coverage skills might be lacking, but he is a fantastic blizer and a great tackler.

Can you imagine being a Vikings fan right now? Little depth, no quarterback, stadium problems, a threat of moving, their star running back a year from hitting the market with nary a display of immediacy in wanting a new contract with them...

...and they promoted their defensive coordinator to head coach. A coordinator whose units ranked the following in Weighted Defensive DVOA since 2007: 21st, 4th, 17th, 16th.

I mean, not only have they missed their window, but they've set themselves up for a dark period. Score another one for TT's superior methodology. I *almost* feel bad for Vikings fans, but then I remember they had the joy of watching No. 4 this year and the warmth in their hearts they must have felt watching the Ol' Gunslinger have fun throwing the ol' pigskin around out there.

It's so damn hard to have a dynasty in the NFL but we do have the most important thing to achieve one, that being an elite QB.
