Hello! We were discussing Luxury Tax savings. Why would Denver want those guys unless more is coming back from Denver i.e. Al Harrington.
Play time is over.

:lol: I always love the "hello!" I say it all the time. I guess I deserved that one...Look, I'm starting to warm up to taking back Harrington if it's a deal breaker. Besides 20 million is a lot better than 30 that's for sure...

I'm starting to get interested in the "other" moves Walsh could make happen.

Damn I hope we get a decent backup PG by the deadline.

Taking back Free Candy is going to happen. It is huge for Denver. And Al was one of the few good soliders the past 2 years. It is not like we are asking him to lead us but as a bench guy it could be worse.I wish we could get Ridonour too

I would take back Harrington IF it means we don't have to give up any of Gallo/Mozgov/Fields.

Azu + Mason = Harrington's contract. Since we be over the cap anyway Harrington is worth more to us than not getting something for those contracts.... the issue for DW could be if he has something else lined up to get a different asset with those expirings. Still, Harrington is not such a bad thing for us.

For example, as it stands right now, we will lose Shawne Williams at the end of the year unless we have MLE to use ... and if we have to use some of the MLE then it means we have less to get another better player... so if we have to take Harrington (and I don't want to) to make a deal for Melo now, it makes the possiblily of losing Shawne Williams less important... although much more expensive.

And before anyone assumes anything, if they both cost the same thing I think I would take Shawne Williams over Harrington anyway.... but that is not the case.

Rookie guard Andy Rautins and Kelenna Azubuike's expiring contract have been discussed as parts of the Carmelo Anthony three-team package, The Post has learned.

The Knicks have to add more pieces to the reported three-team trade proposal for Anthony to make it work from a talent and financial perspective for the Nuggets, according to NBA sources.

I wonder what exactly they mean when they say "make it work from a talent perspective." Does it work from a talent perspective for Carmelo to leave in free agency?

It's really ridiculous... as if anything could make it work from a talent perspective. Not gonna happen!
More like, to get it done now and not wait another 2 weeks.... or "To close the deal and move on"

I could see them pushing hard to get Marc Gasol, Samuel Dalembert, or Marcus Camby.

Sorry if this theory was already mentioned but do you guys think it's possible this trade leak to Broussard was from the Nuggets trying to lower expectations and to capitalize on those expectations by later making a better deal with the Knicks; thereby, looking better in the eyes of its fans? Say this leak wasn't made and the Nuggets simply made a better trade with the Knicks, that deal would be frowned upon by Nuggets' fans as they would still be comparing it the Nets deal. This way, the fans compare the better deal to the Chandler, Brewer deal.

I'm pretty sure Broussard said it was the T-Wolves who leaked this trade.

How much leverage do you guys thing that Kahn actually has?

I mean let's say that DW and Ujiri actully come to an agreement and it involves Curry and AR going to Minn and Brewer and Minny's own pick (you know that Denve is going to ask for it) back....

Now, DW comes back to Kahn and says, here's what I need from you to make this happen...

Can/will Kahn try to extort us at that point?

1. MIN does not have a lot of leverage. The key component here is the cap space, and it can be provided by either SAC or CLE.

2. The current deal is certainly something MIN won't accept -- even most NYK fans agree with that.

UTA 1st (#20) + cap space >= Randolph
Brewer >= Rautins + space
$11 mil Cap Space >> Curry + $3 mil ($2 mil) ... Financially and for other trades

3. Do SAC or CLE even have a late 1st to put in? Its nice eye-candy to convince casual DEN fans

4. I think there's no way that MIN is talking about trading their Top 5 pick. I don't see how NYK could offer enough to get it anyway.

Darko wasn't working out for us, but we knew he needed a fresh start in a smaller market and it has worked out for them. Originally most likely it was meant to be a bridge toward getting rubio but maybe this is how they will help us out?

Excuse me? NY and most of the country ripped Kahn relentlessly for being an idiot taking Darko off your bench, and giving up money (Cardinal was cheaper, even bought out) to do so.

And now you act like NYK was doing Kahn a favor all along, and owes them?

There's that plus the Nuggets hoping against hope that another team steps in and says "Well if that's all they are giving, I can beat that, even for a rental." -Jitpal
