Question: If he gets traded at the deadline then which game does he debut (once all the physicals and things are done)??

I wonder if Melo played so well tonight because he's getting excited that the next challenge in his career is getting closer.

I wish he'd contain himself, we don't want Denver getting second thoughts.

i doubt it KG
When you are an athlete at this level especially an elite one, you always play hard...i think he was just feeling it...but is it possible he was more focused tonight? who knows?

I'd say it would be human nature my friend. Board pundits will disagree but I subscribe to this theory as well. I doubt it's THAT much of a coincidence.

The Knicks have to add more pieces to the reported three-team trade proposal for Anthony to make it work from a talent and financial perspective for the Nuggets, according to NBA sources.
I wonder what exactly they mean when they say "make it work from a talent perspective." Does it work from a talent perspective for Carmelo to leave in free agency?
Works for me!
Seriously though, .give Minny more...**** Denver. The savings is plenty.

What happened was the leak about the proposed pieces allows the nervous Nugs front office to float the offer in the media to entice other teams to get into the mix but it also allows them to also get an idea of public opinion about it.
So when all the pundits and twitts get going and were all like 'rape oh RRRRAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPEEE' now the Knicks have to pony up more to satisfy the face saving desires of the Denver franchise. It's not enough talent for Denver and all of a sudden not enough for Minny to even help the Knicks out at all.

Anthony Randolph has never had enough trade value to get MIN to give up their cap space, their starting SG, and a 1st round pick.

Anthony was asked if he could put himself in the shoes of Denver management on what a tough decision it will be. He wasn't in the mood for that after Monday's game.
"I really don't want to talk about that,'' said Anthony, who could play his last Denver home game Thursday against Dallas due to the Nuggets not being back at the Pepsi Center after that until Feb. 22. "I'm not talking about no Nuggets management now.''

Minny is actually getting a good deal....they have picks galore, and Rubio....Curry is almost paid for...The Jury is still out on AR....DW thought well enough of him to trade D Lee ((all star) for him....Brewer sucks....and who knows Curry might surprise them ala Darko....I'm not saying its a steal, but If I'm Minny the reward out ways the risk...Denver on the other hand is getting royally ******

i was about to post this.. i dont know what denver is doing, whether theyre going to just straight up deal with us or try to toy with us like they did with he nets, but melo has got to be so frustrated with them.. sounds like it
sidebar: on twitter someone hit melo up and said:
"yo melo did u see the interview the owner of the nuggets hasd about you..that was some ill **** he said bout u as a person"
then melo responded and said that he hadnt seen it.. now i thought maybe the owner was saying that melo is a good person or something or another, until the guys answered melo back and said:
"well that fool needs to watch his mouth because u have made bball important in denver since u arrived..they need to chill.."
so it looks like theres beef over there in denver, they should be lucky hes handled himself the way he has instead of bolting without giving them notice & a chance to do something. I dont know what interview he's talking about though so i'll hold off from too much judgment

Laugh all you want but the guy is right. It's just common sense, Randolph for Brewer, a 1st rounder and you lose all your cap space too, why would anyone do that.

This Berman guy.....he just inserts his own opinion into this. How does he know the Nuggets will "likely" re-sign Wilson? If they have his bird rights, wouldn't a sign-and-trade make sense considering how many times Wilson is on record saying he doesn't wanna go to Denver? And now back to our show....

The Knicks and T’Wolves are eager to do a deal. The Nuggets? The wait is on.
“At the end of the day, it’s all up to Denver,” one person involved in the three-team discussions that would bring Carmelo Anthony to the Knicks told The Post.
“Just waiting to see what Denver ultimately does,” another individual with knowledge of the situation said.
As the Knicks and Wolves await Denver’s decision by the Feb. 24 NBA trade deadline, Knicks president Donnie Walsh still sits in a good spot.
It’s a sweetheart package for Walsh, who would give up Wilson Chandler, now a sixth man with a history of injury trouble; Anthony Randolph, the 21-year-old project out of the rotation and aching to be dealt; Eddy Curry’s expiring contract; possibly Andy Rautins, their second-rounder who has played in four games, and rehabbing Kelenna Azubuike’s expiring contract.
“It’s a little ways from being realistic,” another NBA source said. “They [the Nuggets] don’t want to do a deal that is much worse than [the] Jersey [deal that’s now off the table], and they are only 3 1/2 games out of first place [entering last night].”
The Knicks have babied Chandler across the last 10 days as he battles a calf injury and left-ankle soreness on the same ankle that’s endured surgery in two consecutive summers.
Walsh said he has not been told Chandler will need any more ankle surgeries, but after keeping him out three games, coach Mike D’Antoni is using him off the bench, seemingly trying to keep up his health.
Chandler has been subdued the past 10 days. Last night at the Knicks’ charity bowl-athon, when asked if he wanted to remain a Knick, Chandler said, “A lot.”
Some NBA executives say the Kroenkes, who own the Nuggets, are mulling the option of gunning for a championship this season rather than taking on Chandler in a ’Melo deal that pales to the Nets’ package.
Waiting until Feb. 24 gives the Nuggets a better idea of their chances, not Anthony’s preference.
Is Anthony trying to force Denver’s hand? Yesterday, Anthony did not show up to the Nuggets’ morning shoot-around for “personal reasons.” Anthony showed up for last night’s game with the Rockets, claimed nothing had changed on the trade front, and then went out and matched his career high with 50 points, including 21 in the final nine minutes, in a 108-103 loss. Anthony also scored 50 against the Knicks on Nov. 27, 2009.
If Anthony stays, the Knicks can win, too. They can sign Anthony as a summer free agent and work out a sign-and-trade with Denver that gives him an extra year. The sixth-seeded Nuggets can take one last shot at glory.
It’s clear Walsh isn’t willing to give up the farm for ’Melo — with Chandler the lone significant piece.
The Nuggets would get Chandler, whom they’d likely re-sign, a non-lottery first-round pick, Corey Brewer’s expiring contract, possibly Rautins and cap space. They may not do better trading Anthony as a rental to Houston or Dallas.
The Knicks may bid farewell to Chandler anyway this summer if they sign Anthony to a maximum contract, as his $6.4M cap hold may be too high.
If the three-team deal does not work out, Minnesota and the Knicks may do a deal with Randolph for a first-rounder straight up. But Wolves president David Kahn, who once worked under Walsh, is willing to be facilitator for the Knicks to get Anthony.
If the Knicks land a second first-rounder, it’s a better reason to add draft guru Mark Warkentien. As the Post’s Peter Vecsey reported Sunday, Warkentien was hired just for this season.
“It’s a dream come true, working for him,” Warkentien told The Post. “He’s a giant in the game, and I’m here for whatever Donnie needs for me to do.”
