The Grizzlies are making O.J. Mayo available in trade talks, but one rival general manager believes their asking price is currently prohibitive.

Memphis is seeking a player that would improve their chances of reaching the 2011 Playoffs.

I don't want us to get rid of OJ, sure he hasn't probably lived up to his expectations so far but still, he has potential.

If we do shop him, who do you reckon we could get for him?

I think he is trade bait, but Thabeet must be included. From the looks of things, it will be for an expiring deal. Heisley will need to clear cap room to resign Gasol. Then he has to deal with resigning Randolph. Which seems like a must.

I hate to say it, but with Conley and Gay getting theirs already and Gasol/Zbo waiting in the wings this summer - it appears that OJ is the odd man out of the core. At this juncture and the team composed as it is, the Grizz need quality bench depth, outside shooting, and defensive intensity (at any position really); so if he's moved, hopefully the Grizz can address some or all of these deficiencies.

I agree 100% with jefe's post. As a matter of fact I could have wrote it myself since this is exactly how I feel. These are the Grizzlies needs and if they can address them, or at least partially address them then they have to look into it. I hate to say it since I like OJ Mayo as a player, but it is becoming obvious that the team hasn't suffered since his suspension.

Bulls offer James Johnson/Bogans/1st Rounder for Mayo. Maybe even 2 1sts.

Want nothing to do with anything in a Mayo to the Knicks trade that doesn't include Landry Fields.

As a Jazz fan I would be willing to move CJ Miles, a future pick and some of our center depth: Elson/Fesenko (which really isn't the greatest, but not horrible either) for Mayo. I am sure the Jazz could include a pick to. The problem is, I just don't see why Mayo's value has dropped from being the type of player the could be the centerpiece in a trade for a star to being worth a role player and a pick.

Raptors offer Barbosa (outside shooting and bench depth), Reggie Evans (intensity, toughness, rebounding and leadership + an expiring contract), Joey Dorsey and Miami's 2011 pick for Mayo + Thabeet and fillers to make the salaries work. We also have a big trade exception that could possibly be used to get some serious cap relief to resign zeebo and gasol. There's tons of options with Toronto..

Rockets have can offer JJ (expiring deal) and could offer a quality young SG in return (Lee, T-Will, or Budinger) and Jordan Hill. We also have NYs 2012 draft pick. I don't we can trade our own draft pick because we already traded our future 1st for Terrance Williams.

Any potential deal here?

Would you guys do Mayo and Thabeet for Korver, Johnson, Asik and a first?
Korver would give you shooting off the bench. Johnson and Asik would be cheap experiments for this year and next year. The first would help you rebuild. Thabeet is terrible and we take his bad contract in return for Mayo who will definitely not stay in Memphis anyway.

No. I like Korver, but the rest are (IMO) just scraps to "make it work".

Top trading partners for Mayo:

Philly - large deal centered around Iggy and T. Young
Denver - after Carmelo fallout, Grizz net JR Smith, deal may be possible three way
Golden State - very large deal that nets Ellis & David Lee, but also would include Zach Randolph

These are just desired partners and not based upon any rumors.

I think he allows you to move Xavier into the starting lineup and he ca backup either the SG or SF position. if you take into consideration that the Grizzles want to get rid of Thabeet and don't play to re-sign Mayo two experiments, a solid role player and a first round pick doesn't seem reasonable to you?

^^^ NO

but I had drafted up something like this Taj and Korver and maybe a 1st for thabeet and Mayo.

Thabeet and Johnson would then be packaged in a 3 way to houston for lee, and Hayes.

the 2nd part doesn't really matter to you but what do you guys think?
